Open the extensions list

In Edge, select Extensions beside the address bar, then choose Manage extensions.

If the Extensions button is not visible, open Settings and more > Extensions, then select Manage extensions. Microsoft documents these paths in its Edge extension instructions.

The management page lists installed extensions. For each one, check whether you recognize it, still use it, and want it enabled. An unfamiliar extension is not automatically malicious, but it is a reason to inspect its details and decide whether it belongs in your browser.

Choose what to do with each extension
Keep it enabled
Keep an extension enabled if you recognize it, still need its function, and are comfortable with the access it requests. Open Details to review the available controls and site access.
Restrict its access
If the extension is useful but does not need access everywhere, adjust Site access in its details. Microsoft documents options to allow access only when you click the extension, on the current site, or on all sites. Choose the narrowest option that still lets it do its job. The available choices can depend on the extension.
Extension details may also offer controls for whether it can run in InPrivate windows and access file URLs. Review these settings against how you use the extension; do not enable broader access unless you need it.

Turn it off temporarily
In Manage extensions, switch off the extension’s toggle to stop it running without removing it. This is reversible, so it can help determine whether an extension is causing a browser problem before you decide whether to keep or remove it.
Remove it

Select the extension’s toolbar icon or open its More actions menu.

Choose Remove from Microsoft Edge and confirm. You can also go to Manage extensions, find the extension in the installed list, and select Remove, as described in Microsoft’s support instructions.

Turning an extension off and removing it are different actions: switching it off preserves the installation for later, while removal deletes it from Edge.
If Edge has turned an extension off
Microsoft says Edge automatically disables extensions that try to change default settings without permission, to protect browser preferences, security, and privacy. Before enabling one again, consider whether its requested change is expected and whether you still want the extension.
If you choose to re-enable it, open Settings and more > Extensions > Manage extensions, find the extension, and switch it on. See Microsoft’s guidance on extensions Edge disables.

When an extension is managed by your organization
Do not treat an organization-controlled extension like an ordinary personal installation. Microsoft’s FAQ says to open edge://extensions and look for a briefcase indicator. You can view applied policies at edge://policy; extension-related entries may include ExtensionSettings or ExtensionInstallForcelist. If a policy controls the extension, contact your organization’s IT department before attempting to change or remove it.
If Edge says an extension is managed by your organization on a device you believe is not managed, do not assume the extension is legitimate or malicious based on that label alone. Microsoft’s FAQ recommends checking for malware and sending feedback to Microsoft if you cannot remove it. Avoid registry edits or policy-removal commands as routine cleanup: Microsoft warns that advanced registry changes can be risky. See its Edge extensions FAQ.
