To restore the built-in Samsung look, open Galaxy Themes and go to Menu > My stuff > Themes > Default, then tap Apply. Samsung calls this the Default theme; it returns the theme-controlled appearance, but does not necessarily restore separate wallpaper, icon, or Always On Display choices.
Apply the built-in Default theme
- Open Galaxy Themes. If you cannot find the app, long-press an empty area of the Home screen and open the Themes option.
- Tap Menu. Its position can vary by device or software version.
- Choose My stuff.
- Open the Themes tab and select Default.
- Tap Apply if prompted.
Samsung documents this route in its US troubleshooting guidance, Mexico theme guidance, and Australia Galaxy Themes instructions. Labels or entry points may differ across models and software versions; look for the Galaxy Themes library and its built-in Default theme.

What the Default theme changes
A theme can affect home and lock screen wallpapers, app icons, the appearance of Samsung apps, sounds, fonts, or layout. The scope depends on the individual theme, so selecting Default restores the elements controlled by that theme rather than guaranteeing that every earlier personal choice is reconstructed. Samsung advises checking the theme’s description to see which elements it covers.

Reset wallpaper, icons, or Always On Display separately
You can change one appearance component without replacing the overall theme. In Galaxy Themes, use My stuff and the relevant tab:

- Wallpaper: Open Wallpapers > Preloaded and choose a wallpaper.
- Icons: Open Icons and choose Default.
- Always On Display (AOD): Open AOD and choose Default.
- Your own photo: Open Wallpapers > Gallery and select an image.
These controls are separate from applying the overall Default theme, so you can keep a custom theme while changing selected elements. Samsung’s Galaxy Themes guidance describes these individual options.
Fix a partially applied theme or interrupted download
If a theme applied only partly
First apply the Default theme using the steps above. Samsung recommends restoring this baseline before deleting the theme that installed incorrectly. Once the default is active, remove the problematic theme from Galaxy Themes.

If a download stopped
Check your network connection and retry the download. For a theme you previously purchased, open Galaxy Themes > Menu > Purchased items and download it again; Samsung says a repeat download does not require another purchase.
If a purchased item is missing
Sign in to the Samsung account used for the purchase, then check Galaxy Themes > Menu > Purchased items. Samsung Mexico notes that a connected Samsung account is required to recover purchased themes or icons. Availability can vary by country and device model.
