Most Core Keeper bosses do not return on a timer. To fight one again, go back to its original rune, arena, or tracked titan location and use the exact summon item for that boss. Runes cannot be destroyed, but the wrong idol will do nothing. Azeos and Omoroth can also require a post-fight delay before their next summon is accepted.

The core respawn rule
Boss respawning in Core Keeper is a manual process. After a victory, return to the place where that boss was originally called and repeat its summon interaction. For rune-based bosses, place the matching item directly on the rune. The rune is an indestructible ground object; placing a valid item starts the summon and consumes that item.

1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThere is no universal “wait for the boss to reappear” timer. Each boss has its own item and, in a few cases, a separate post-fight condition. A summon item made for one rune is not a substitute for another. If nothing happens, the usual causes are an incorrect location, an incorrect item, or a soul or other post-fight state that has not cleared.

How to respawn a rune-based boss
- Return to the original room. Use the same slime rune, circular rune, throne-room sigil, Oasis rune, or other marked location used for the first encounter.
- Clear the arena. Remove hazards and leave enough room to interact with the rune. This also makes it easier to see whether the item was accepted.
- Select the exact summon item. Check the item name against the boss table. Similar-looking idols are not interchangeable.
- Place the item on the rune. Stand over the rune and use the item so it sits on the rune itself, not beside it. A valid placement starts the encounter and consumes the item.
- Wait for the spawn animation. If the item remains in your inventory and no summon begins, do not keep dropping more items. Verify the location, item, and any boss-specific cooldown first.
This procedure covers Glurch, King Slime, Ghorm, the Hive Mother, Ivy, Morpha, Igneous, Nimruza, and the meteor-based Core Commander interaction. Malugaz uses a sigil rather than a conventional floor rune, while the roaming titans and Omoroth use different interactions described below.
Special summon procedures
Malugaz the Corrupted
Malugaz is summoned at the sigil in the throne room. The required Skull of the Corrupted Shaman is made from three Crystal Skull Shards. Take the completed skull to the throne-room sigil and place it at the marked spot. If the sigil does not react, confirm that you are in the throne room rather than another room containing a similar decorative symbol.
Azeos the Sky Titan
Use a Large Shiny Glimmering Object in Azeos’s arena. Azeos has a documented post-fight sequence: the soul can take about five minutes to disappear, followed by roughly 20 seconds before the shadow returns. The practical total is approximately five minutes and 20 seconds. If the summoning object is already placed, the source documentation indicates that Azeos can appear immediately once the shadow is ready, so placing it early can avoid having to interact with the arena again.
Omoroth the Sea Titan
Omoroth is not called with an idol. Put an Expert Lure in your off-hand, equip a fishing rod, and cast into a whirlpool in Omoroth’s arena. Reel in the bite to begin the encounter. A soul-disappearance delay of five minutes or longer may apply after a defeat; casting again before that state clears can appear to do nothing.
Ra-Akar the Sand Titan
Take a Thumper to Ra-Akar’s arena and place it at the arena interaction point. The Thumper is the required summon device; a slime idol or another titan item will not activate this fight.
Druidra, Crydra, and Pyrdra
These three titans are roaming encounters rather than fights tied to a permanently marked rune. Track the titan, travel to its current location, and use the matching wind organ nearby:

- Druidra: Wind Organ of Wilderness.
- Crydra: Wind Organ of Ice.
- Pyrdra: Wind Organ of Fire.
The organ must correspond to the titan and be used near the tracked location. Searching for a fixed arena or placing the organ in an unrelated room will not start the encounter.
Core Commander
Once the initial Crystal Meteor event has been completed, repeat the fight by placing a Core Commander Summoning Idol on the rune inside the meteor. The first activation is different from later respawns: it requires all six titan souls and shattering the meteor. After that setup has been completed, the idol-and-meteor-rune interaction is the repeat-summon method.
Nimruza, Queen of the Burrowed Sands
Return to Nimruza’s Oasis dungeon and use Corrupted Sap on the rune there. This is a dedicated late-game summon method, so neither a Giant Slime Summoning Idol nor a titan organ can substitute for the sap.
Where to get summon items
Giant Slime Summoning Idol
The Cloaked Merchant sells several boss idols, including the Giant Slime Summoning Idol for 200 Ancient Coins. Merchant stock restocks after time passes, so an idol may not be available on the first visit. The same Giant Slime Summoning Idol serves four bosses: Glurch, Ivy, Morpha, and Igneous. It does not summon King Slime; that boss requires the Crown Summoning Idol.

Other idols and crafted items
Malugaz’s Skull of the Corrupted Shaman requires three Crystal Skull Shards. Titan summon items can be crafted at the Ancient Shrine or obtained through the Spirit Merchant associated with the Ancient Hologram Pod, depending on the item and the world version. Because item availability can vary by version, check the recipe or merchant inventory in the world where you intend to farm the boss.
The table’s item names are deliberately specific. “Slime idol,” “titan item,” or “boss idol” is not enough information to choose a valid summon: the game checks the item associated with that exact boss interaction.

Compare the summon interactions before you travel
There are four practical categories. Rune placement is the most common: carry the named idol or material to an indestructible rune and place it directly on top. Arena placement works similarly but uses a special object at a large boss arena, as with Azeos and Ra-Akar. Fishing is unique to Omoroth and requires an off-hand lure plus a rod, not a dropped item. Roaming-titan summons require you to follow a tracked location and use an elemental wind organ nearby. Sorting the boss into the right category prevents the most common wasted trip.
The item source also affects preparation. The Giant Slime Summoning Idol is a repeat purchase from the Cloaked Merchant, priced at 200 Ancient Coins, and one idol covers four different slime bosses. King Slime still needs a Crown Summoning Idol, so buying a Giant Slime idol for that fight leaves you with the wrong item. Malugaz requires three Crystal Skull Shards for one completed skull. Titan objects may come from the Ancient Shrine or the Spirit Merchant tied to the Ancient Hologram Pod, depending on the object and your world version.
Timing, souls, and failed summons
Most rune summons have no documented waiting period beyond completing the previous fight. Azeos and Omoroth are the important exceptions because their souls or post-fight states can remain in the arena. Azeos’s documented immediate-respawn timing is about five minutes and 20 seconds. Omoroth may require five minutes or longer for the soul to disappear.
Use the following diagnostic order when an item appears to do nothing:
- Check the location. Confirm that you are at the named boss rune, throne-room sigil, arena, meteor, Oasis dungeon, or tracked roaming-titan position.
- Check the item. Compare every word of the item name with the reference table. A Crown Summoning Idol, for example, is not the same as a Giant Slime Summoning Idol.
- Check the interaction type. Omoroth needs fishing, roaming titans need a wind organ near their current position, and Ra-Akar needs a Thumper. Dropping an item as if it were a normal rune summon will fail.
- Check the post-fight state. For Azeos, wait for the soul to disappear and the shadow to return. For Omoroth, wait until the soul has cleared; the documented delay can be five minutes or longer.
- Check the first-activation requirement. If you are trying to start Core Commander for the first time, confirm that all six titan souls have been collected and the Crystal Meteor has been shattered.
- Try once, then observe. A valid item is consumed when the summon starts. If it was not consumed, stop and correct the setup instead of spending another item.
A practical repeat-boss workflow
For reliable farming, prepare the summon item before leaving your base and keep a spare weapon, healing supplies, and a clear route to the arena. Mark the arena or rune on your map, especially for bosses located in large biomes. For roaming titans, record the tracked location rather than assuming the titan will return to the place where you first encountered it.
After each victory, observe whether a soul, shadow, or other visible post-fight state remains. Do not immediately consume another rare summon item while that state is present. Azeos’s and Omoroth’s documented delays explain most apparent failures for those fights; the other bosses in the reference list use their normal summon interaction once the previous encounter has ended.

When purchasing idols, remember the 200-Ancient-Coin price documented for the Giant Slime Summoning Idol and the Cloaked Merchant’s restocking behavior. If the idol is absent, allow time for the merchant stock to refresh rather than substituting a different idol. For crafted or shrine-based items, gather the listed components first and confirm that your world version exposes the same recipe.
Common pitfalls that waste summon items
- Using a generic name instead of the full item name: four bosses share the Giant Slime Summoning Idol, but King Slime does not.
- Dropping an item beside the rune: the item must be placed on the marked ground object itself. A nearby floor tile is not enough.
- Looking for a permanent titan arena: Druidra, Crydra, and Pyrdra are tracked roaming encounters. Their organs belong near their current locations.
- Treating Omoroth like an idol summon: the Expert Lure goes in the off-hand, and the rod must be cast into an arena whirlpool.
- Repeating a summon during a soul state: Azeos and Omoroth can ignore a new attempt until the previous soul has cleared.
- Confusing first activation with a rematch: Core Commander’s initial meteor event needs six titan souls and the meteor-shattering step; later fights use the idol on the meteor rune.
- Spending a second item immediately: if the first item was not consumed, the game did not accept the summon. Fix the location or requirement before trying again.
Quick decision guide
- You have a slime rune: identify whether the target is Glurch, Ivy, Morpha, Igneous, or King Slime. The first four use the Giant Slime Summoning Idol; King Slime uses the Crown Summoning Idol.
- You have a circular rune: match it to Ghorm or the Hive Mother and use that boss’s named idol.
- You are in the throne room: use the Skull of the Corrupted Shaman for Malugaz.
- You are in a sky-titan arena: use the Large Shiny Glimmering Object for Azeos and wait for the soul-and-shadow sequence when necessary.
- You are at a sea-titan whirlpool: equip Expert Lure in the off-hand and fish for Omoroth.
- You are at a sand-titan arena: use a Thumper for Ra-Akar.
- You are following a roaming titan: use the wind organ matching its element near the tracked location.
- You are inside the Crystal Meteor: use the Core Commander Summoning Idol; the first activation additionally needs six titan souls and the meteor event.
- You are in Nimruza’s Oasis dungeon: use Corrupted Sap on the dungeon rune.
Version-sensitive details
Summon recipes, merchant inventories, and timing behavior are game data rather than externally audited statistics. The item names and prices above reflect the documented reference for this guide, while future patches or different world versions can alter availability. If your game shows a different recipe or label, use the in-game item description and the boss’s marked location as the final check.
The durable rule is unchanged: identify the boss, return to its designated location or tracked position, and use only the summon interaction assigned to that boss. Runes themselves are indestructible, so losing the original arena does not prevent a later rematch.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do bosses respawn automatically in Core Keeper?
Usually not. Return to the original rune or arena and use that boss’s exact summon item. Azeos and Omoroth also have documented post-fight soul or shadow delays.
Where do I put a boss idol?
Place the matching item directly on the boss’s rune or marked arena interaction point. Dropping it on an adjacent floor tile will not activate the summon.
Can one Giant Slime Summoning Idol summon every slime boss?
It summons Glurch, Ivy, Morpha, and Igneous. King Slime is the exception and requires a Crown Summoning Idol.

How long must I wait before respawning Azeos?
Allow roughly five minutes for Azeos’s soul to disappear and about 20 seconds for the shadow to return, approximately five minutes and 20 seconds total. If the object is already placed, Azeos can appear when the shadow is ready.
Why will my wind organ not summon a titan?
Use the organ that matches the titan and activate it near that titan’s tracked roaming location. Druidra, Crydra, and Pyrdra do not use a fixed rune.
What is different about the first Core Commander summon?
The first activation requires all six titan souls and shattering the Crystal Meteor. After that event, place a Core Commander Summoning Idol on the rune inside the meteor for rematches.
What do I need to respawn Malugaz?
Craft the Skull of the Corrupted Shaman from three Crystal Skull Shards and place it at the sigil in Malugaz’s throne room.
The Bottom Line
To respawn a Core Keeper boss, return to its designated rune, arena, meteor, whirlpool, or tracked roaming location and use only the item or interaction assigned to that boss. Remember the shared Giant Slime Idol exceptions, Omoroth’s fishing method, the roaming titan organs, and the Azeos and Omoroth soul delays.
