To factory-reset OnePlus Nord Buds 3r, take both earbuds out of the case and hold the touch areas on both earbuds at the same time for 15 seconds, until you hear the prompt tone. Then pair them again from your phone, tablet, or computer’s Bluetooth settings. To make them discoverable without resetting, use the four-second pairing-mode method instead.
Factory-reset OnePlus Nord Buds 3r
- Remove both earbuds from the charging case.
- Press and hold the touch area on each earbud simultaneously for 15 seconds.
- Wait for the prompt tone, which indicates that factory settings have been restored.
- Open Bluetooth settings on the device you want to use and select OnePlus Nord Buds 3r to pair again.
These model-specific steps come from a Nord Buds 3r manual reproduced by Device.report, rather than an official OnePlus-hosted manual. The reproduced manual says the charging case has no Bluetooth pairing button, so do not use instructions for other OnePlus earbuds that rely on a case button. Enter pairing mode without a factory reset
Pairing mode makes the earbuds discoverable; it is not the same as restoring factory settings. The reproduced Nord Buds 3r manual describes two ways to enter pairing mode when pairing records already exist:

- Open the case: If the earbuds are not connected to another device, open the case and wait up to 15 seconds for the white breathing indicator to flash.
Stop audio playback or end an active call before using the simultaneous-touch shortcut. Once the earbuds are discoverable, choose OnePlus Nord Buds 3r in the intended host’s Bluetooth settings. The manual reproduction is available at Device.report.

Fix common Bluetooth pairing problems
- Check Bluetooth and the device list. Turn on Bluetooth on the phone, tablet, or computer, open its Bluetooth device list, and select OnePlus Nord Buds 3r when it appears. OnePlus’s general Bluetooth guidance says to put a device into pairing mode according to that device’s manual if it is not discoverable; menu labels can vary by host and software version. - Use pairing mode, not reset, for rediscovery. If the earbuds have pairing records, try the four-second touch hold or open-case method above. Stop playback and calls first.
- Prevent connection to the wrong host. If the earbuds reconnect to a previously paired phone or computer, disconnect them there or temporarily turn off Bluetooth on that host, then try pairing with the intended device. This is a practical troubleshooting step, not a stated OnePlus reset procedure.
- Reduce distance and interference. Move the host closer and away from sources of electromagnetic interference. OnePlus lists 10 m as the maximum Bluetooth transmission distance, but describes interference as a factor that can interrupt connectivity; the listed maximum is not a guarantee in every environment. - Check charge, then retry. If battery state is uncertain, charge the earbuds and case before trying again. The available product information does not establish low charge as a proven cause of Nord Buds 3r pairing failures.
- Factory-reset only after simpler checks fail. Use the 15-second, two-earbud method above, then pair again. Resetting means you will need to set up the Bluetooth connection again.
- Escalate if discovery still fails. If the reset prompt never sounds or the earbuds remain undiscoverable, contact OnePlus Support for your region. Repair, warranty, and parts eligibility depend on region and are not established here.
First connection and model details
For a first connection, OnePlus advertises Google Fast Pair: bring the earbuds near an Android device and follow the on-screen prompt. Standard Bluetooth settings are the broadly applicable option across phones, tablets, and computers. The product page also lists Bluetooth 5.4 and dual-device connection; those features do not change the reset or pairing-mode steps.
OnePlus lists playback of up to 12 hours per charge for the earbuds at 50% volume in AAC mode, and up to 54 hours with the charging case. These are manufacturer figures based on lab results, and OnePlus says actual results vary with usage conditions; they are not pairing troubleshooting guarantees.
