On a Samsung Galaxy, open Settings > General management > Reset, then choose the reset that matches the connection problem. Depending on your model, software version, and carrier, you may see separate options for mobile networks and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, or a combined network-reset option. A network reset does not erase apps or personal data, but you may need to reconnect to Wi-Fi or pair Bluetooth accessories afterward.
Choose the reset that matches the problem
| Reset option | Use it for | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Reset mobile network settings | Mobile data, signal, or cellular connection problems | Resets mobile-network settings. Your apps and personal data remain. |
| Reset Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings | Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection problems | You may need to reconnect to Wi-Fi networks and pair Bluetooth accessories again. Your apps and personal data remain. |
| Reset network settings | General connection trouble when your device offers a combined option | The confirmation screen explains which settings will be reset. Review it before proceeding. |
| Factory data reset | A much broader device reset, not a routine network fix | Erases personal data and apps. Back up important data first. |
Samsung’s support pages describe both separate and combined network-reset choices. Labels and available options vary by Galaxy model, software version, and carrier, so follow the wording on your own device. See Samsung’s reset guidance and its Bluetooth troubleshooting steps.

Reset network settings on a Samsung Galaxy
- Open Settings.
- Tap General management, then Reset.
- Select the option for the connection that is failing: Reset mobile network settings, Reset Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings, or the combined Reset network settings, if shown.
- Read the warning on screen, then tap Reset settings. Confirm with Reset if prompted. Your phone may ask for its PIN, password, or another security credential.
- After the reset, test the affected connection. Reconnect to Wi-Fi or pair Bluetooth devices again if those settings were reset.
If the menu labels differ, use the reset description shown on your phone rather than assuming another Galaxy model has the same choices. Samsung Canada notes that reset options can vary by device and carrier in its overview of Galaxy reset methods.

What a network reset does—and does not—delete
A targeted network reset is not a factory reset. Samsung says network-specific resets do not erase your apps or personal data. A Wi-Fi/Bluetooth reset can remove saved Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth pairings, so have any needed Wi-Fi passwords available and be ready to reconnect accessories. A factory data reset is different: it erases personal data and apps, and Samsung advises backing up important data before using it.

If mobile data or signal still does not work
Work through checks that match the symptom, testing mobile service after each change. Samsung’s UK mobile-data guidance recommends checking that Mobile data is enabled, force-restarting the device, and then resetting network settings. A reset is one troubleshooting step, not a guarantee of service: coverage, account, plan, or carrier-side problems may also prevent a connection.
For weak signal, no service, or dropped calls
- Check whether the problem occurs in a different location; coverage may be involved.
- Review mobile-network settings and available network mode. Samsung’s poor-signal guidance also recommends restarting and checking for software updates.
- If calls or signal remain unreliable, Samsung’s call and no-signal troubleshooting includes restoring Access Point Name (APN) settings to default, trying another available network mode, and running the Mobile network diagnostic in Samsung Members.
- Contact your carrier if the issue could involve coverage, account access, your plan, or a recent carrier change with the same phone. For a persistent device problem, use Samsung Members diagnostics or contact Samsung Support.
For Wi-Fi or Bluetooth trouble
Use the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth reset only if your device offers it and the affected connection is Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Afterward, reconnect to the relevant Wi-Fi network or pair the accessory again. If the connection still fails, check the network or accessory as well as the phone; a reset cannot resolve every problem outside the device’s network settings. Samsung’s mobile-network connection guidance also recommends checking network settings and asking the carrier about access or account issues when mobile service is affected.
