Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →If your Apple News feed feels one-sided, you can clear the information used to recommend stories: on iPhone, open News > Following > History > Clear, then choose Clear Recommendations. That removes recommendation information without clearing your reading history. Apple says the change can affect stories shown across devices using the same Apple Account, but it does not promise a politically balanced feed or an immediate change.
Reset recommendation information without deleting reading history
- Open the News app on your iPhone.
- Tap Following, then History, then Clear.
- Choose Clear Recommendations.
Apple says this removes the information News uses to recommend stories. The change applies across devices signed in to the same Apple Account, not just the iPhone where you made it. Apple says clearing recommendation information can change the types of channels, topics, and stories shown in Today and other feeds; it does not specify how quickly the feed will change or guarantee a particular mix.

Choose the right Clear option
| Option | What it removes | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Clear History | Reading history. | If you want to remove your News reading history but keep recommendation information. |
| Clear Recommendations | Information used to recommend stories. | If you want to reset recommendations while retaining reading history. |
| Clear All | Both reading history and recommendation information. | If you want to clear both categories of data. |
Apple says clearing history also resets the identifier Apple News uses to report statistics to news publishers. You can manually reset that identifier at Settings > Apps > News using Reset Identifier. Clearing history and resetting recommendations are related options, but they are not the same action.
Why a reset may not make Today feel balanced
“Biased” describes how the feed looks to you; Apple’s support guidance does not establish why a particular feed appears one-sided or show that a reset corrects a measurable bias. Today is not solely a personalized recommendations list: Apple describes it as including editor-selected Top Stories, followed channels and topics, Siri suggestions, trending stories, and other content. Clearing recommendation information may alter some of what appears, but it cannot ensure every disliked story disappears.

Adjust recommendations and sources without clearing history
Give feedback on a story
In Today, tap More below a headline, then choose Suggest More or Suggest Less. This provides feedback on an individual story rather than clearing recommendation information or reading history.
Change followed or blocked channels and topics
Follow or unfollow channels and topics, or block and unblock them from their feeds. These controls change your source preferences; they do not perform a full recommendation reset.

Limit recommendation inputs to News reading
Go to Settings > Apps > News > Siri and turn off Show in App. Apple says recommendations will then use reading habits in News only, rather than activity in Safari and other apps.
