First identify your model: the wired Arctis Pro with ChatMix Dial, the wired Arctis Pro + GameDAC, or the Arctis Pro Wireless. Their controls and connection paths differ, and a reset for another Arctis headset may not apply.
If audio is failing, check the relevant cables and selected audio devices before changing settings. For the GameDAC, a third-party video describes a factory-reset option in its menu, but the official SteelSeries material cited here does not confirm that exact procedure.

Identify your Arctis Pro variant
Check the hardware in front of you before following any reset advice. SteelSeries keeps separate support and manual resources for these models; their connection and control arrangements are not interchangeable. See the SteelSeries product manuals and SteelSeries’ product comparison announcement.

Before resetting, rule out connection and audio-selection problems
Arctis Pro + GameDAC on a PC
- Connect the GameDAC to the computer by USB.
- Connect the main headset cable between the headset and the GameDAC.
- In Windows, select the GameDAC as the default playback, communications, and input device.
These are the connections and device selections in SteelSeries’ Arctis Pro + GameDAC PC setup guide. A loose headset cable, disconnected USB link, or a different selected output or microphone can look like a device fault.

Wired Arctis Pro with ChatMix Dial
Confirm the headset is connected to the dial and the dial is connected to the computer by USB. Then check that the operating system and chat application use the intended output and input devices. SteelSeries documents these connections in its ChatMix Dial PC setup article.
What reset instructions apply to the Arctis Pro?
SteelSeries’ general Arctis headset reset guidance points users toward SteelSeries GG and connecting the headset to a computer, but it does not give a wired Arctis Pro button sequence or identify a model-specific reset-button location. Do not infer a physical reset procedure from another model’s instructions.

SteelSeries’ charging guidance describes pinhole reset switches for certain other wireless Arctis headsets and says that listed procedure does not apply to Arctis Pro Wireless. Do not transfer those pinhole or battery-drain steps to a wired Arctis Pro. For the wireless model, consult its own manual and support instructions rather than improvising a reset.

GameDAC factory reset: verify the menu on your unit
A HardReset.Info video published on March 17, 2024 describes this menu sequence for the Arctis Pro GameDAC: hold the control wheel, move through “About,” then select “Factory Reset.” This is third-party guidance, not an official SteelSeries procedure in the support sources cited here. Check that the options on your GameDAC match the video and consult the correct SteelSeries manual before proceeding. Do not use the sequence as a reset method for the ChatMix Dial or Arctis Pro Wireless.

When to suspect a cable
If the GameDAC connection drops or audio changes when the headset cable moves, inspect that cable and its connectors. A replacement is relevant only if the cable itself appears damaged or unreliable; confirm the exact Arctis Pro variant and connector compatibility before buying. The setup guide establishes that a main cable connects the headset and GameDAC, but it does not establish a current replacement SKU or cross-variant compatibility. Replacing a cable does not reset the device and will not address unrelated faults.
