To factory-reset most Sonos soundbars, unplug the power, hold Join while reconnecting it, and keep holding until the status light flashes orange and white. If the soundbar has no Join button, Sonos says to hold Play/Pause or Mute while reconnecting power. Arc Ultra and Beam Ultra use a different Bluetooth-button procedure, so identify your exact model first. A factory reset erases product information and saved content; if you only need to restart the soundbar, reboot it instead.
Factory reset or reboot: which do you need?

Identify your soundbar’s reset button
Check the model name before unplugging the soundbar. Sonos gives Arc Ultra and Beam Ultra a separate reset method; most other products use the general method below. If the model has no Join button, Sonos specifies Play/Pause or Mute as the button to hold during reconnection.

How to factory-reset most Sonos soundbars
- Unplug the soundbar’s power cord.
- Press and hold Join. If there is no Join button, press and hold Play/Pause or Mute.
- While continuing to hold the button, reconnect the power cord.
- Keep holding until the status light flashes orange and white, then release the button.
- Wait for the light to flash green. Sonos says green means the product is ready to be set up again.
After the reset, use Sonos’s add-a-product setup process to return the soundbar to your system.

What the status lights mean
- Flashing orange and white: A factory reset is in progress. Sonos also says this pattern can indicate a software update and rarely a fault, so the light pattern alone does not prove that a reset is underway. Sonos LED light explanations
- Flashing green after the reset: The product is ready to be set up again.

The reset removes the product’s registration information, content saved in My Sonos, and content services. If you are clearing more than one product, reset each product individually.
