When can you replay a mission?
Bandai Namco’s official campaign overview describes a replay and debriefing segment after each mission, but it does not explain a separate mission-select mode or how to open one. For replaying an individual sortie after finishing the story, KeenGamer and PowerPyx report that Free Mission unlocks after the first campaign clear. Their guides describe it as a way to revisit individual missions, including for rank improvement and missed objectives.

Read the briefing and objective display
Check the sortie briefing before launch and follow the objective requirements shown in-game. The official walkthrough gives general loadout advice, not a complete mission-by-mission list of objectives or solutions, so the briefing and live objective display are the reliable references for the mission you are playing.

Match your loadout to the sortie
Bandai Namco advises choosing an aircraft and special weapon with both the mission objective and your playstyle in mind. An air-to-air engagement, ground-support assignment, naval strike, or superweapon battle may call for different equipment; use the briefing to identify the targets and demands of the actual sortie.
You can also use available upgrade parts to tailor aircraft. The official walkthrough says additional aircraft can be unlocked with MRP earned in missions, giving you more options as you progress.

Use Free Mission to revisit unfinished goals
Once Free Mission is available, select the sortie you want to revisit and focus on the objective you missed, a better rank, or another improvement. The guides support replaying missions for rank and objective cleanup, but they do not establish that every objective or restriction can be retried or removed in every mission. Check the requirements in-game for the particular sortie.
