Samsung dryer parts are model-specific. Find the complete model number on your dryer and use it to check a matching parts listing or service documentation before ordering. Prepare safely before opening the dryer
- Unplug the dryer. If it is a gas model, shut off the gas supply before beginning.
- Wear safety glasses and gloves; cabinet edges can be sharp.
- Have a Phillips screwdriver, needle-nose pliers and, as needed, a putty knife or multi-screwdriver with Phillips and flat-head bits. The fasteners and access points vary by cabinet.
- Photograph wire connectors and screw locations as you remove them. Do not pull on wiring connected to the control board.
Do not proceed with a diagnostic step that requires testing live voltage unless you are qualified to do so. Use a qualified appliance technician for live electrical diagnosis.

- Open the top panel. Release it using the retaining tabs or rear screws specified for your cabinet. Lift it carefully and avoid stressing control-board wiring.
- Remove the door and bulkhead as directed for the model. Note the door-switch and moisture-sensor connections before disconnecting them, and keep track of fasteners.
- Access the drive system. Remove the idler-arm fastener and drum as required by the guide. Inspect the pulley, belt and spring; replace the pulley if its wheel is damaged or missing, or if the belt cannot stay tensioned. Clear broken-belt fragments from the cabinet.
- Fit the replacement pulley. Check that the new part matches the model and has the required center bearing. If its assembly does not include a new main spring, transfer the existing spring as directed, handling it carefully.
- Route and tension the belt. The guide’s path is drum → idler pulley → motor pulley. Make sure the belt sits correctly around the drum and motor pulley and that the idler tensions it. Check alignment before closing the cabinet.
- Reassemble and test. Reinstall the bulkhead, reconnect the sensor and door-switch harnesses, secure the door and panels, then run a test cycle. Confirm that the dryer starts, the drum turns and the belt stays aligned.
When to stop and get help
Stop if the cabinet arrangement does not match the instructions for your model, the correct part or spring arrangement is unclear, wiring is damaged, or the next diagnostic step requires live-voltage work. A qualified technician can confirm the fault and complete the repair without guessing at a model-specific disassembly or electrical test.
