How to Renew Your AT&T PREPAID Plan

Pay your AT&T PREPAID plan online or by phone, or enroll in AutoPay. Learn when charges process, what happens if you miss renewal, and how add-ons differ.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

To renew AT&T PREPAID, make a payment in your account or by phone, or set up AutoPay so the next plan payment is processed automatically. Check your account for the amount and renewal date: AT&T processes AutoPay one day before a monthly plan’s due date, or one day before a non-monthly plan’s balance expires.

Renew online or by phone

AT&T supports account payments online and account management by phone. For an online payment, sign in to your AT&T PREPAID account, open Manage Prepaid account, then select Make a Payment. The available amount and payment details should be checked in your account before you submit.

To manage the account by phone, call 611 from an AT&T PREPAID phone or 1-800-901-9878 from another phone. See AT&T account management for the listed options.

Choose manual payment or AutoPay

Method How it works What to consider
Manual online payment Sign in, go to Manage Prepaid account, and choose Make a Payment. You control when to submit the payment, but need to make it by the renewal deadline.
AutoPay Enroll through Manage Prepaid account → Make a Payment → Pay and Enroll in AutoPay; choose or add a payment method and accept the terms. AT&T processes payment one day before a monthly plan’s due date, or one day before a non-monthly plan’s balance expires. Confirm your date and amount in your account.

AT&T lists credit cards, debit cards bearing a major credit-card logo, checking accounts, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Venmo, and PayPal for online AutoPay payments. The payment methods listed for enrollment by phone are narrower, so check the available choices for the channel you use. Details and steps are on AT&T’s AutoPay support page.

What happens if you miss renewal

If you do not use AutoPay and do not pay when renewal is due, AT&T says service will be turned off. The same support page says an unpaid number will be reassigned after 60 days. If you are leaving AT&T PREPAID, remove AutoPay and separately cancel any third-party subscriptions billed through your prepaid account.

Keep add-ons separate from your plan

An add-on’s renewal is distinct from the base plan’s renewal. AT&T says add-ons configured for auto-renew renew every 30 days, with the charge deducted from your AT&T PREPAID balance. You can manage add-ons online or by phone and turn off auto-renew for an add-on; follow AT&T’s add-on instructions.

Can you use an AT&T PREPAID refill card?

An older AT&T quick-start guide lists a PREPAID Refill Card bought at an AT&T retail store or authorized retail location as a way to fund an account, alongside online payment, AutoPay, and dialing 611. Because the guide is older, confirm current card availability and terms with AT&T before purchasing. The guide is available as an AT&T PREPAID quick-start PDF.
