Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallCrashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteUse a browser automation script to open the dashboard, wait until its data is ready, and save a PDF; then run that script from a scheduler such as GitHub Actions. The browser script controls what appears in the PDF, while the scheduler controls when the script runs. You will need to adapt the example to your dashboard’s URL, authentication, readiness signal, and PDF destination.
What you need to decide first
Before automating an export, identify the parts that depend on your dashboard and deployment:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Access: Is the dashboard public, or does it require a login, cookies, or other credentials?
- Readiness: What indicates that the charts and data have finished loading? A page load completing does not necessarily mean an application’s asynchronous data requests have finished.
- Appearance: Should the PDF use print styling or resemble the on-screen dashboard? Which paper size, orientation, and margins are appropriate?
- Destination: Should each PDF become a workflow artifact, be uploaded to storage, or be sent somewhere else?
- Schedule: What cadence and timezone do you need, and is a delayed run acceptable?
The example below assumes a Node.js project, a dashboard URL available to the runner, and a dashboard-specific selector you can use as a readiness signal. It writes the PDF to a local file. Add your own secure login and delivery steps if needed.
Render the dashboard with Puppeteer
Puppeteer’s PDF workflow launches a browser, opens a page, navigates to a URL, calls page.pdf(), and closes the browser. PDF generation uses print CSS by default, and Puppeteer waits for fonts by default. The script below uses networkidle2 as a navigation example, then waits for a selector representing dashboard readiness. Replace [data-dashboard-ready] with a selector that only appears once the dashboard content you need is ready.

Install Puppeteer
npm install puppeteer
Create the PDF script
Save this as render-dashboard.js. Keep the dashboard URL and any credentials out of source code; supply them through your deployment environment. This example does not assume a particular dashboard authentication mechanism.
const puppeteer = require('puppeteer');
async function main() {
const dashboardUrl = process.env.DASHBOARD_URL;
if (!dashboardUrl) {
throw new Error('Set DASHBOARD_URL to the dashboard URL');
}
const browser = await puppeteer.launch({ headless: true });
try {
const page = await browser.newPage();
await page.setViewport({ width: 1440, height: 1000 });
await page.goto(dashboardUrl, {
waitUntil: 'networkidle2',
timeout: 60000,
});
// Replace this with a selector that signals your dashboard's data is ready.
await page.waitForSelector('[data-dashboard-ready]', { timeout: 60000 });
await page.pdf({
path: 'dashboard.pdf',
format: 'A4',
landscape: true,
printBackground: true,
margin: {
top: '12mm',
right: '12mm',
bottom: '12mm',
left: '12mm',
},
});
} finally {
await browser.close();
}
}
main().catch((error) => {
console.error(error);
process.exitCode = 1;
});
Run it locally with DASHBOARD_URL set to your dashboard URL. For a dashboard that needs screen rather than print styles, emulate screen media before calling page.pdf(). Conversely, print CSS is the default and may be the better choice for a report designed for paper. If exact colors matter, Puppeteer’s documentation points to the CSS property -webkit-print-color-adjust; verify the result in the generated PDF.

Schedule the script with GitHub Actions
GitHub Actions can launch the script on a cron schedule. The workflow below runs daily at 07:15 UTC, installs the project dependencies, and saves the generated PDF as a workflow artifact for 14 days. Change the time, timezone, artifact retention, or storage step to fit your needs.
Commit package.json and the lockfile to the repository, and add a repository secret named DASHBOARD_URL. If authentication is required, add the needed credentials as secrets and implement the correct login flow in the script. Do not commit credentials in the workflow or JavaScript file.

The workflow runs from the latest commit on the default branch. GitHub documents a minimum scheduled interval of five minutes, and schedules use UTC by default; an IANA timezone can also be specified. Scheduled events may be delayed during periods of high load, particularly around the start of an hour, and some queued jobs can be dropped. Avoid minute zero if modest delay is acceptable. Public repository scheduled workflows are automatically disabled after 60 days without repository activity. Do not treat this scheduler as an exact-time delivery guarantee.
Choose PDF settings that fit the dashboard
Playwright and Puppeteer both provide page-to-PDF APIs. Use the framework already present in your project unless its API or runtime does not meet your needs; the available documentation establishes PDF features for both, not a universal performance winner.

- IRIScan Express mobile scanner is powered via an included micro USB 2. 0 cable allowing you to use it even where there is no outlet available. Plug it into you PC or laptop and you are ready to scan. USB cable provided. AC Adapter not provided and not needed.
- IRIScan flatbed scanner uses a simplex scanning mode allows for quick and straightforward scanning of single-sided documents. IRIScan with its full portable features is the ideal document scanners for computers.
- IRIScan document scanner : Versatile scanning capabilities, including scanning to Word, PDF, and Excel formats with companion software provided Readiris OCR
- Receipt scanner and card scanner with Additional features include scanning business cards directly to Outlook, photo scanning, and receipt scanning for efficient document management
- Paper and orientation: Choose a paper format or explicit dimensions and set portrait or landscape orientation. Wide dashboards often need landscape, but check the result rather than assuming it will fit.
- Margins and pagination: Set margins deliberately and inspect where long tables, charts, and cards break across pages. Test with representative data.
- Backgrounds and colors: Enable background printing if the report relies on colored panels or chart fills. Print styling and browser color handling can alter the screen appearance.
- Headers and footers: Playwright documents header and footer fields including date, title, URL, page number, and total pages. Use them if the exported report needs page context.
- Fonts: Allow font loading to complete before capture; Puppeteer’s PDF generation waits for fonts by default.
- Screen versus print CSS: PDF APIs use print CSS by default. Emulate screen media when the report should follow screen styles instead of print styles.
Make timing and delivery reliable enough for the job
Wait for dashboard data, not just navigation
networkidle2 is a navigation option, not proof that every dashboard is ready. Some applications poll continuously; others fetch data after the initial document load. Prefer a dashboard-specific condition such as a ready marker, a known chart element, or an application state your team controls. Set a finite timeout so a broken dashboard fails rather than leaving a runner stuck indefinitely.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Store and deliver the file deliberately
A workflow artifact is convenient for retrieval, but it is not automatically a permanent archive or a delivery mechanism. If the PDF must be retained longer, delivered to a team, or stored in a particular location, add a destination-specific upload or notification step. The right mechanism depends on your storage provider, access controls, and confidentiality requirements.
Best Value
- Scanner type: Document
- Connectivity technology: USB
- With Auto Scan Mode, the scanner automatically detects what you're scanning
- Digitize documents and images
Protect credentials and report contents
Use the runner’s secret-management facility for credentials, restrict access to the repository and generated artifacts, and avoid printing secrets in logs. Consider whether the dashboard contains sensitive information before saving PDFs as artifacts or sending them to another service.
Troubleshoot common failures
- The workflow says
DASHBOARD_URLis missing: Add a repository secret with that exact name and confirm the workflow passes it into the render step. - The page opens but charts are empty: Navigation may finish before data loading does. Replace the example readiness selector with a condition tied to completed dashboard data; investigate failed network requests and authentication as well.
- The readiness selector times out: Confirm that the selector exists in the rendered page and appears under the runner’s account. If the dashboard uses a different state signal, wait for that instead.
- The PDF has unexpected colors or styling: Check whether print CSS is active, whether backgrounds are enabled, and whether screen media is required. Validate print color behavior in the stylesheet.
- The page is clipped or split awkwardly: Review paper format, orientation, margins, and print styles; test a representative dashboard with its widest and longest content.
- The scheduled run is late or absent: GitHub Actions schedules can be delayed or dropped under load. Confirm the workflow is on the default branch and, for a public repository, that repository activity has not been absent for 60 days.
- The PDF is generated but nobody receives it: Artifact upload only makes the file available as a workflow artifact. Add a separate upload or delivery step for your intended destination.
Or skip the browser setup
If you want a hosted capture instead of managing Chromium and a scheduled runner, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. It can return a screenshot or PDF; its documentation describes the available request options. The supplied basic request below saves a WebP capture. Consult the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for the PDF request configuration and other options.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I schedule a PDF export more often than once a day in GitHub Actions?
Yes. GitHub Actions documents scheduled runs as frequent as once every five minutes, subject to its scheduling behavior and limits.
Does the Puppeteer example include dashboard login?
No. Authentication differs by dashboard. Add a secure, deployment-appropriate login flow if the runner cannot access the page directly.
