To disconnect an app or website from Facebook, open Settings > Apps and Websites, select the app, choose its removal option, and confirm. If you only want to stop one capability—such as letting the app publish posts—remove that permission instead of disconnecting the entire app.

Select the app and choose the option to remove it. Confirm the removal when prompted.

Facebook’s Help Center documents this route for changing an individual app permission: Apps and Websites > View and Edit > Remove > Remove. Choose the app’s overall removal option if you want to revoke its Facebook connection, rather than just one permission.
Remove a specific permission, such as permission to post
If you want to keep the app connected but limit what it can do, open Apps and Websites, select View and Edit beside the app, find the permission, and choose Remove. Confirm by choosing Remove again. These are the steps in Facebook’s instructions for managing an app’s posting permission.

When you remove the permission that lets an app publish posts on your behalf, it can no longer publish through that permission. Facebook notes that this does not stop friends who use the same app from tagging you in their posts. If the app’s settings do not show a post permission, Facebook says the app cannot publish on your behalf through that permission.

Try Facebook’s Privacy Checkup and look for Your Data Settings on Facebook. Meta described this area as a way to review information shared with apps used to log in with Facebook and remove apps you no longer use in its January 6, 2020 Privacy Checkup announcement. The announcement is older, so the exact label or location may differ in the current app.

Do not confuse app access with Activity Off-Meta Technologies
Apps and Websites is where you manage apps connected to Facebook. Activity Off-Meta Technologies is a separate control for activity information that businesses send to Meta from outside Meta technologies. Removing the connection revokes the app’s Facebook access. The available Meta materials do not establish that this action deletes information the app developer already received. If you want the provider to delete data it may retain, check that provider’s privacy policy and account or data-deletion controls separately.
