QLED TVs do not all use the same leg attachment or release method, so do not guess at screw locations, clips, or pulling directions. Turn the TV off, unplug it, disconnect cables, and have someone help support it while you work.
Find the guide for your exact TV
“Samsung QLED” covers many model years, screen sizes, and stand designs. Locate the full model code on the TV or its documentation, then search for that code on Samsung’s support page and open the installation guide or manual for your set. Samsung’s Canadian support page for the 2025 QN65QN60FAF, for example, lists an installation guide, user manual, and repair guide; that documentation is not a substitute for the guide to a different model.

Model-specific guides can differ even within a product family. Samsung’s 2021 Q60A guide covers certain QN75Q6*A and QN85Q6*A models and gives stand and foot orientation details. Use it only if your model is among those it covers.
Prepare the TV and work area
- Turn off the TV, unplug its power cord, and disconnect cables that could restrict handling. Samsung’s disassembly guidance specifies disconnecting the TV from its power source before disassembly.
- Ask another person to help support the TV. Large screens are awkward and fragile to handle alone.
- Clear a stable work area and cover it with a clean, soft protective surface, such as a cushion or padded moving blanket. Samsung’s disassembly guidance calls for a protected surface when placing the TV down.
Remove the legs using the model-specific instructions
- With help, carefully place the TV screen-down on the prepared surface, supporting the body so it does not bear weight on the screen unevenly.
- Consult the matching installation guide for how each leg is attached and released. Follow its sequence and use only the tools it specifies.
- Remove the legs as directed, keeping the TV supported throughout. If the parts do not release as the guide describes, or you cannot identify the attachment, stop and check the guide or contact Samsung support rather than prying or forcing anything.
- Once the legs are off, keep the TV supported and stable. Do not leave it balanced on an unsuitable surface.
The available Samsung instructions are model-specific; they do not establish a universal screw count, screwdriver, clip release, or pulling direction for QLED TVs.

If you are removing the legs to wall-mount the TV
Removing the legs is separate from installing a wall mount. Check the TV’s own mounting instructions and confirm that the proposed hardware is compatible with the full model code before installation. Samsung’s Q9FN manual says to use Samsung-provided parts for stand or wall-mount installation, warns that pushing, pulling, or climbing on a TV can cause it to fall, and states: “Always have two people mount the TV onto a wall.” That instruction is from the Q9FN manual; consult your own TV’s guide for its applicable requirements.
For the Q9FN, the manual also describes securing the TV to a wall to reduce fall risk. Do not assume that model’s hardware or instructions apply to a different QLED set.
