A repair question about the 7-inch tablet says the battery is accessible after removing the back cover, but does not provide a verified procedure for every onn tablet. iFixit’s repair discussion likewise concerns a particular device, not the full product range.
Check model-specific instructions before opening it
Do not begin a teardown based only on another onn tablet’s instructions. Find a guide or manual that matches the full model number and generation. If you cannot confirm a suitable guide, ask the device maker or a qualified repair provider rather than guessing where the cover clips, battery connector, or adhesive are located.

One user-reported repair for an onn 7-inch tablet describes removing the microSD card, easing off the rear cover with a plastic card or pry tool, and then freeing the battery and connector. That is an anecdotal example, not an official or universal sequence; it does not establish the correct order or opening method for your tablet. See the repair discussion.
Do not puncture, bend, crush, or force a battery. Do not improvise with heat, solvents, or metal blades. The available model-limited guidance does not support those methods, and damage to a lithium-ion battery can create a safety risk.

Stop if the battery is swollen or damaged
If the back is bulging, the battery looks swollen, or the battery is otherwise damaged, do not pry the case open or press the device flat. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says swelling indicates battery damage and is a potential fire hazard. Do not choose a battery based on tablet size or brand alone. Confirm the tablet’s exact model and the part number on its original battery, then check that the replacement’s connector and dimensions match and review the seller’s return terms.

Do not put a lithium-ion battery, or a device containing one, in household garbage or ordinary recycling. Use a separate battery-recycling or household hazardous-waste collection route. EPA also recommends isolating battery terminals with non-conductive tape or placing the battery in a separate plastic bag where appropriate.
