That is a layer over the display; the goal is to remove that layer, not the display glass beneath it. The listing confirms the protector is supplied but does not specify its construction or how to remove it.

A Nothing Community reply dated November 12, 2025, suggests lifting the pre-applied protector from one corner and peeling it away from the glass. This is advice from a community user, not an official Nothing instruction or a guaranteed method.
How to remove it gently
- Prepare the phone. Power it off, place it on a clean, stable surface, and make sure your hands are clean and dry. These are general precautions, not steps prescribed by Nothing.
- Check the edges. Look for a corner or edge that is already slightly lifted. If none is loose, do not dig under the protector to create an opening.
- Lift with a fingertip or fingernail. Use gentle pressure at the loose edge, keeping your movement controlled and shallow. The corner-lift approach comes from the community reply; using a clean fingertip or fingernail is a cautious handling recommendation.
- Peel slowly. Once an edge lifts, draw the protector back gradually rather than tugging upward sharply. Avoid blades, metal picks, and levering against the display.
- Stop if it resists. Do not force a cracked or strongly adhered layer, or escalate to heat, solvents, or a sharp tool. The available model-specific sources do not establish those as safe removal methods for the Phone (4a).
- Inspect the display. In good light, check for damage or a fragment still attached. If glass looks damaged or a piece remains stuck, do not scrape at it; contact Nothing support.
When to contact Nothing
If the protector will not lift with light effort, or it is cracked and difficult to handle, ask Nothing for guidance rather than increasing force. Nothing’s US support contact page lists Phone (4a) among its supported products. The instructions and availability on that page apply to its US support flow.

Replacing the protector
If you want another layer of protection, choose a seller listing that explicitly names “Nothing Phone (4a)” as compatible. The fact that Nothing ships the phone with a pre-applied protector does not verify the fit or quality of any particular replacement. No specific replacement listing, material, edge coverage, or case compatibility has been established here.
T3’s Phone (4a) review describes a plastic protector over Gorilla Glass 7i and notes that the reviewer saw scratches on the protector during two weeks of use. That is an individual observation, not a controlled durability test or proof of how the protector should be removed.
