Remove the stream’s entry from the YouTube playlist first. If you also want the recording gone, delete its archive separately in YouTube Studio; if you only want to restrict viewing, change its visibility instead. Removing a playlist item does not delete the playlist.
Remove the stream from the playlist
- Open the YouTube playlist containing the LiveReacting stream.
- Find the stream, select More beside it, then choose Remove from [PLAYLIST NAME]. This removes that item from the playlist, not the playlist itself. YouTube Help: Create and manage playlists.
If you do not see the removal option, confirm you are signed in to an account with access to manage that playlist.

Choose what should happen to the YouTube archive
Removing the playlist item and managing the live-stream recording are separate actions. Decide whether to keep the archive and limit who can watch it, or remove it permanently.

- In YouTube Studio, open Content > Live.
- Open the stream’s details, change Visibility to Private or Unlisted, then save. YouTube documents both options alongside Public. YouTube Help: Manage your live stream settings.
Private and Unlisted are different visibility choices. Choose the one that fits who should be able to access the recording; changing visibility retains the archive rather than deleting it.

Permanently delete the recording
- In YouTube Studio, select Content > Live, then open the stream’s details.
- Select More > Delete, confirm Delete forever, and save. YouTube says a deleted video is permanently deleted. YouTube Help: Replace or delete your video.
Download or otherwise save a backup before deleting if you may need the recording again. YouTube’s published instructions do not specify exactly how the playlist will appear after its underlying video is deleted, so remove the playlist item first if clearing it from the playlist is important; do not assume an old entry or thumbnail will remain.
What these YouTube steps do—and do not—change
- The playlist: the playlist remains; the removal action targets the selected item.
- The YouTube archive: visibility controls restrict access while retaining the recording; deletion removes the video permanently.
- The LiveReacting event record: YouTube’s instructions do not establish whether these actions also alter a separate record in LiveReacting. If that record matters, check the current LiveReacting interface or its help material rather than assuming the YouTube change removes it.
The steps apply to the YouTube-side playlist and archive controls and require an account with the relevant channel and playlist access. If a control is unavailable, check that you are signed in with the appropriate channel access.

If you are cleaning up a stream that ran for a long time
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, and warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured. This is a limit noted in YouTube’s current live-stream help, not a guarantee that every shorter stream will be available as an archive. YouTube Help: Archive live streams.
