Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →You can influence how many recommended Reels appear in Facebook Feed by marking them Not interested and adjusting Feed preferences. These controls can help shape recommendations, but Facebook does not promise that they will remove every Reel or switch Reels off everywhere.
Tell Facebook you want to see fewer similar Reels
- Find a recommended Reel in Feed. Open the feedback or options menu on the Reel. The button and its location can vary by device, app version, account, and rollout.
- Choose “Not interested.” Facebook may also use a similar label in the menu. Meta says this feedback temporarily lowers the ranking score for similar posts; it is a way to influence recommendations, not a permanent block. Meta explains the label change in its March 11, 2025 update to Facebook Feed controls: “At launch, Interested and Not interested were called Show more and Show less, but their names have since changed.”
Facebook’s labels and menu placement can change, so look for the closest available feedback option if the wording differs.

Adjust Feed preferences for broader changes
Use Facebook’s Feed preferences to adjust what appears in Feed. The available controls can vary, but Facebook also describes options to hide an individual story or see fewer posts from a particular person, Page, or group.

When a particular source is the problem
Hiding a story or reducing posts from its source addresses that item or person, Page, or group. It is distinct from marking a recommended Reel Not interested, which gives Facebook feedback about similar recommendations.

Why Reels may still appear
Facebook Reels can appear in Feed, and Facebook also offers a separate Reels browsing destination. Feedback on a Reel in Feed may influence what Facebook recommends there, but the official guidance does not say that one setting removes all Reels from Feed or disables Reels across Facebook.
There is no stated percentage or guaranteed amount by which these steps will reduce Reels. Meta describes the ranking effect as temporary, so results may vary.

Choose the control that matches your goal
| Control | Best for | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Not interested feedback | Influencing similar recommendations | Meta describes the ranking effect as temporary; it does not guarantee that similar Reels will never appear. |
| Feed preferences | Adjusting Feed more broadly | Available options and menu location may change. |
| Hide a story or see fewer posts from a source | Addressing a specific post, person, Page, or group | Targets the item or source, not every Reel. |
| Reels audience settings | Choosing who can see Reels you publish | Controls the audience for your own Reels, not the Reels Facebook recommends to you. |
Don’t confuse publishing privacy with viewing recommendations
Reels audience settings control who can see the Reels you share. They do not set which Reels Facebook shows you. Facebook’s privacy help for audience and visibility settings includes Reels-related settings, but does not describe them as a master control for hiding all Reels shown to you.
