Yes. You can configure a scheduled YouTube live stream to send viewers to a Premiere when the live ends. Create and schedule the Premiere first, then select it under the source stream’s Customization > Redirect settings in YouTube Studio. YouTube documents a Premiere as the destination—not a playlist itself—so this works when you mean a Premiere video that may also be included in a playlist.
What Live Redirect does—and what “playlist Premiere” means
YouTube Live Redirect can send viewers from an ended live stream to a selected Premiere or another channel’s live stream. YouTube describes the handoff as autoplaying to the chosen destination after the source stream ends. A Premiere is a video released at a scheduled time for viewers to watch together; its public watch page is available beforehand, where viewers can set reminders, comment, and chat. YouTube’s Live Redirect guide and its Premiere guide describe the destination as a Premiere, not a playlist. If your Premiere is in a playlist, select the Premiere itself as the redirect destination.

Check eligibility and destination access
YouTube Help says the creator sending a redirect must have more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guideline strikes. This requirement applies to the sending creator. Redirecting viewers to another channel’s live stream additionally requires permission from that channel; that permission condition is distinct from sending viewers to your own Premiere. YouTube Studio provides controls for allowing redirects from subscribed channels, all channels, or specifically approved channels. Labels may vary by locale, so use the settings shown in your current Studio account. See YouTube’s current eligibility and permission guidance.

Set up the Premiere and scheduled stream redirect
- Schedule the destination Premiere first. Upload the video, choose its scheduled date and time, and set it as a Premiere. YouTube creates a public watch page in advance. Confirm that the Premiere is scheduled for the time you want viewers to arrive. See Premiere a new video.
- Open the scheduled source stream. In YouTube Studio, go to Content > Live, then edit the scheduled live stream that will send viewers onward.
- Choose the destination. Open Customization. In the Redirect section, choose Add, then select the scheduled Premiere.
- Verify the handoff when ending the stream. When you end the source live stream, check YouTube’s confirmation that viewers will be redirected before confirming the end.
- Tell viewers what to expect. Ask them to wait a few seconds after the live ends while the Premiere loads. YouTube recommends setting up the Premiere before the live stream. The exact Studio controls and flow are documented in How to use YouTube Live Redirect.
What viewers may see during the transition
The current YouTube Help page describes autoplay after the source ends, but it does not guarantee that every viewer transitions automatically in every playback configuration. In a May 3, 2022 announcement, TeamYouTube said viewers with autoplay disabled would need to press play. Treat that as a useful caveat rather than a guarantee about every current app or device: if the handoff matters, tell viewers to wait and be ready to start playback if prompted. If viewers do not reach the Premiere
- Confirm the destination was selected on the right stream. Reopen the scheduled source stream under Content > Live > Customization > Redirect and check that the intended Premiere is selected.
- Check that the Premiere was created and scheduled first. YouTube recommends scheduling it before the source stream, and the redirect destination is the Premiere rather than its containing playlist.
- Check the end-of-stream confirmation. When ending the live, make sure the confirmation says viewers will be redirected before you proceed.
- Allow a short wait, then account for autoplay settings. Tell viewers to wait a few seconds; those with autoplay disabled may need to press play, as described in TeamYouTube’s 2022 announcement.
- For a redirect to another channel’s live stream, verify permission. The destination channel must allow the redirect. This permission requirement does not apply in the same way to your own Premiere.
- If the option is unavailable, check eligibility. YouTube Help lists more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guideline strikes for the sending creator.
