The menu differs by platform: use the profile menu on the web, the Store’s More menu on PS5, or the bottom of the Store sidebar on PS4. Standard vouchers have 12-digit codes; 10-digit discount codes are entered at checkout instead. Sony’s voucher instructions cover each route.
Redeem a code in a web browser
- Open the PlayStation Store and sign in to the account that should receive the voucher.
- Select your profile at the top of the screen, then choose Redeem Code.
- Enter the 12-digit voucher code and select Continue.
The credit or content is applied to the signed-in account.

Redeem a code on PS5
- Open PlayStation Store and press Triangle to open its menu.
- Select … (More) > Redeem Code.
- Enter the 12-digit code and select Redeem.
- If Download appears for the content, select it to start the download. Sony does not show this option for content that does not require a download.
Redeem a code on PS4
- Open PlayStation Store and scroll to the bottom of the sidebar.
- Select Redeem Codes.
- Enter the 12-digit code and choose Continue > Confirm or Yes.
- For downloadable content, choose Continue > Download when prompted. These options are absent for content that does not require a download.
Redeem a voucher during checkout
If you are already buying something, Sony also lets you apply a voucher from the payment method menu: select Redeem Codes and Gift Cards during checkout.

Check the code type and account before redeeming
Voucher codes and discount codes use different flows
A standard PlayStation Store voucher code has 12 digits. Sony lists vouchers for games and add-ons, in-game currency and consumables, season passes, subscriptions, and wallet balance. A 10-digit discount code is different: apply it to the shopping cart during checkout, not through Redeem Code. Discount codes have restrictions, including exclusions for subscriptions and pre-orders; Sony also says they cannot be combined with another discount code in the same purchase or used across multiple purchases.

Match the voucher to the account
The voucher must be for the same country or region as the account. For a physical voucher, check the country or region flag printed on the card. Each voucher can be used once, and funds or content cannot be transferred between accounts, so verify the signed-in account before redeeming. Redeemed vouchers can be reviewed in Account Management transaction details.
Wallet vouchers for child accounts
A wallet top-up voucher for a child account must be redeemed by the family manager. The family manager can set a monthly spending limit for the child.

Some subscription vouchers need a payment method
Sony notes that some subscription vouchers may require a valid payment method on the account.

Troubleshoot a code or missing content
- Code rejected: Check the digits carefully, confirm the voucher has not already been used, and check whether it has an expiry date. For a physical gift card, reveal all digits carefully.
- Region mismatch: Confirm that the voucher’s country or region matches the account.
- Store or network problem: Check PlayStation Status for service issues.
- Content missing after redemption: Restart the console and check again. If it is still missing, sign out and back in to the account that redeemed the voucher.
- Problem continues: Follow Sony’s voucher troubleshooting guidance.
