Start in Pages → Trash: if the page is there, choose Restore. If the page still exists but its content was changed, use its revisions or an available autosave. If it has been permanently deleted, recovery depends on whether you have a usable database or site backup—and whether that backup tool can restore a single page.
First, check whether the page is actually deleted
A page missing from the public site may still be saved as a draft, unpublished, or available at a changed URL. In WordPress, open Pages and search or filter by publication status before moving on to recovery. The Pages screen supports searching and filtering, as described in the WordPress Pages Admin Screen documentation.

- Confirm you are signed in to the right WordPress site and account.
- Check the page list, including drafts and other publication statuses.
- If you find the page but its text or layout is wrong, go to the revisions steps below rather than restoring it from Trash.
Restore a page from the WordPress Trash
- In the WordPress dashboard, open Pages.
- Select the Trash view.
- Find the page and choose Restore.
- Return to the page list and confirm its status and content.
WordPress documents 30 days as the default period that trashed pages remain available before permanent deletion. Site configuration can change this behavior, so treat 30 days as the documented default, not a guarantee for every installation. See the Page/Post Settings sidebar documentation and the Pages Admin Screen guidance.
Recover content with revisions or autosaves
Use revisions when the page still exists but a saved edit removed or overwrote content. Open the page in the editor and select Revisions in the Page settings sidebar. Compare the available versions, choose the one with the content you need, and restore it. WordPress’s Revisions documentation explains the revisions screen; the interface differs by version, with the newer screen in WordPress 7.0 and the classic screen in 6.9 or earlier.

Revisions record saved drafts and published updates, but the available history can be affected by revision limits and cleanup settings. Restoring an older version replaces the page’s current content, so compare versions carefully before confirming.
If the loss happened during recent editing, check for an autosave as well. WordPress documents one autosave per user for a given post; a newer autosave overwrites that user’s earlier autosave. Neither revisions nor autosaves should be treated as a guaranteed recovery method for a page that has been permanently removed.

Recover a permanently deleted page from a backup
If the page is no longer in Trash, look for a WordPress or hosting-provider backup that includes the database state from before deletion. WordPress recommends regular backups in its site maintenance guidance, which also links to database backup and restoration resources.

Ask your host or backup provider
Ask whether a database snapshot from before the deletion exists and whether it can be restored to a staging copy or used to extract one page. Backup retention and granular restore options vary by provider and account; confirm what is available to you rather than assuming a backup exists.
Use direct database recovery only with qualified help
WordPress stores content and revisions in its posts table, so database-level recovery may be possible in some cases. It is an advanced fallback, not a routine fix: editing the wrong record can affect other content. Work from a fresh backup and get help from someone experienced with WordPress databases before changing records directly.
