On a computer, use the calendar selector near the bottom of the form; on Android, tap the calendar name at the top. The event will be saved to the selected calendar, not necessarily your default one.
Add an event to a specific calendar on a computer
- Open Google Calendar and click Create.
- Enter the event title and any other details.
- In the event form, click the calendar name near the bottom.
- Open the dropdown beside the calendar name and choose the calendar where the event should appear.
- Click Save. Google says the event appears with the calendar name and the name of the person who created it. Google Calendar Help: Create an event
You can also start by clicking an empty time slot in the calendar, then entering the event details. If you need to choose a particular destination, check the calendar selector in the event form before saving.

What to do if the calendar is missing
For a shared calendar
A shared calendar must first be created and shared on a computer. It will appear as an event destination only if your access lets you create events on it. If it is missing from the event form, ask the calendar owner to check your permissions. Google Calendar Help: Share your calendar
Create a new calendar
Google says new calendars can only be created in a browser. In Google Calendar, next to Other calendars, choose Add other calendars, then Create new calendar. Enter a name and description, then create it. The creator becomes its owner; after creation, the calendar can be found in the browser and Calendar app. Google Calendar Help: Create a new calendar
