Who can purchase Bluehost AI Credits?
Bluehost identifies Self-Managed VPS and VDS plans as eligible. If you already have one, add credits from that package’s AI Tooling area. Bluehost also describes an entry point while configuring an eligible VPS or VDS purchase. AI Credits should not be assumed to be a standalone balance available to every Bluehost customer. How to buy credits in the Bluehost Portal
- Sign in to the Bluehost Portal.
- Choose Hosting from the left-hand menu.
- Select Manage beside the eligible VPS or VDS package where you want the credits.
- Open AI Tooling on the hosting details page.
- In AI Credit Balance, select Add AI Credits.
- Choose a credit pack. If you have a promo code, enter it and apply it.
- Review Today’s Total and the payment method on file.
- Select Buy Now to complete the purchase.
Bluehost says the purchased balance is added immediately. If the portal layout or wording differs, use the AI Tooling area for the package and verify the final total before confirming.

The overview says prices can change and directs customers to the AI Tooling tab for current rates. The listed packs have the same stated per-credit value, so the larger options do not show a documented per-credit discount. Choose based on likely usage and how much you are comfortable prepaying.
What to know before paying
Purchases are prepaid and non-refundable
Bluehost describes AI Credits as a one-time purchase with no subscription or automatic renewal. It also says purchases are final and non-refundable, so review the pack and checkout total carefully before buying.

Credits expire
Bluehost’s overview specifies a 12-month validity window from the most recent purchase. A new purchase refreshes the validity window for the remaining balance; if credits expire without another purchase, the balance resets to zero. The purchase guide advises checking the balance page for the specific expiration date.
Credit usage depends on the model
Different models consume credits at different per-token rates, so a given balance can cover different amounts of work depending on the model and token type. Check Bluehost’s current AI Gateway model-pricing table when estimating usage; a credit total alone does not indicate a fixed number of prompts or tokens.

An active balance is needed for API keys
Bluehost says you need an active credit balance before creating API keys. The key is then used to connect an application to the AI Gateway.

Because the documented packs carry the same per-credit value, the choice is mainly about expected use and the risk of leaving prepaid credits unused until expiry. Consider the models you expect to use and their token rates, then select the smallest pack that reasonably fits your planned usage. Since purchases cannot be refunded, do not treat a larger pack as a discount or as a way to lock in a better documented rate.
