How ARC Raiders account access works
ARC Raiders access uses an Embark ID connected to a third-party platform account, such as Steam, PlayStation, or Xbox. That means an attacker may compromise the platform login, the email used to secure it, or the link between that login and your Embark ID. Each problem has a different recovery owner: the platform handles its account, while Embark handles an Embark ID linking issue. Embark’s account security guidance says it cannot directly help with compromised Steam, PlayStation, or Xbox accounts.

Steps to reduce the risk of account takeover
Use unique passwords and protect the associated email
Use a password for your platform account that you do not reuse elsewhere, and secure the email account associated with it with a different password. Steam warns that access to the associated email can help someone take over a Steam account, so protect that inbox and watch for unexpected security notifications. Turn on the platform’s additional sign-in protection
For Steam, enable Steam Guard. It adds an authorization step for sign-ins from an unrecognized device. Other platforms have their own security features; use their official instructions rather than assuming Steam Guard applies to an ARC Raiders account on another platform. Steam Guard guidance

Keep credentials and authentication codes private
Do not share your password or sign-in codes, and do not enter credentials on a page opened from a suspicious message. Steam advises users to use official Steam sites and ignore unsolicited support requests through chat. When in doubt, navigate to the platform’s support site yourself instead of following a link in a message. Steam account security guidance
What to do if you suspect unauthorized access
- Identify what was compromised. Check whether you have lost access to Steam, PlayStation, or Xbox, or whether the problem is specifically that the platform login is no longer connected to your Embark ID.
- Recover the platform account first. Follow the platform’s official recovery process. Embark directs players to the relevant platform for a compromised platform account and says it cannot directly recover those accounts. Embark account security guidance
- If it is a Steam account, secure the computer and email. Steam recommends scanning the computer for malware and changing the associated email password before recovering a hijacked account. This can help prevent an attacker from immediately regaining access. Steam account security guidance
- Use the provider’s official recovery route. Steam offers self-recovery and says to contact Steam Support if self-service fails; Support may ask you to verify ownership. PlayStation provides an account recovery flow and directs users who see suspicious sign-in details or account changes to its support assistant. Steam account recovery and PlayStation account recovery
- Contact Embark if the original login was disconnected. If an attacker removed the platform account originally linked to your Embark ID, Embark says to contact its support team if you can prove that the account belonged to you. Embark account security guidance
For Xbox accounts
Embark directs players with compromised Xbox accounts to Xbox/Microsoft for recovery. Use the official Xbox or Microsoft recovery and support channels; detailed Xbox recovery steps are not specified in Embark’s guidance.

Be careful before changing Embark ID links
Embark allows one account per platform to be linked to an Embark ID. The first platform account linked is treated as the original account and cannot be unlinked through self-service. If several platforms are connected, you also cannot unlink the platform account you are currently using to sign in. Embark account-linking guidance
Unlinking is not a way to move game progress: linking a platform account to a different Embark ID does not transfer progress, earned rewards, or cosmetics. More seriously, unlinking all third-party game accounts permanently deletes the Embark ID and its ARC Raiders and THE FINALS progress, including purchased and earned cosmetics.
