To save a web page as a PDF in Chrome on Android, open the page and tap More > Share > Print. In print preview, choose Save as PDF, pick where the file should go, and tap Print. You do not need a printer for this, because the PDF is written to your phone or tablet rather than sent to paper.
Save a page as a PDF, step by step
Google’s Chrome Help documentation for Android describes this flow for web pages, images, and files. The labels below follow that documentation. Menu wording and placement can differ between Android versions, Chrome versions, and phone manufacturers, so if a label looks different on your screen, match it to the closest option rather than hunting for a specific position.

- Open Chrome and go to the page you want to save.
- Tap More (the three-dot menu at the top right), then tap Share.
- Tap Print.
- In the print preview, open the printer or destination selector and choose Save as PDF. Google’s instructions state: “To save your print preview as a PDF, tap Save as PDF.”
- Choose the location on your device where the PDF should be stored.
- Tap Print to create the file. Chrome saves the page as a PDF rather than sending it to a printer.
Printer or no printer
Keep two outcomes apart. A digital PDF needs no hardware at all. Sending the page to paper is a different task: Google’s Android guidance says a printer that receives data over Wi-Fi or a mobile network is needed for that. If you only want a file you can keep, share, or archive, you can stop at step 6 and never touch a printer.

Google’s separate Chrome guidance on PDFs says Chrome’s built-in PDF features require Android 12 or later. That requirement applies to the PDF-management features Google describes, such as opening and downloading PDFs in Chrome. The same page does not state that the print-to-PDF steps above carry that minimum version, so check your Android version if you are unsure.

Within that scope, the relevant options are:
- Open a PDF in Chrome: tapping a PDF link opens it in Chrome.
- Download an open PDF: while the PDF is open, use the More menu to download it.
- Find a downloaded file: open Chrome’s Downloads menu to locate it.
If you saved the file through the print preview and cannot find it, look in the location you chose at step 5. That location is the one place the saved file is guaranteed to be.
Outdated advice to ignore
Older guides often point to Google Cloud Print for printing from phones. Google states that Cloud Print stopped being supported starting January 1, 2021, so it is not a working route for this task. For printers you do want to use, Android’s help documentation describes managing available print services through the phone’s settings.

If the Save as PDF option is missing
Google’s documentation does not list causes or universal fixes for a missing Print option or a missing Save as PDF destination, and it does not cover every device model or customized share menu. What the official documentation does establish is the sequence above, so the practical checks are:

- Confirm the destination selector in print preview is open, since Save as PDF appears there rather than on the share sheet.
- Compare the labels on your screen with the steps above, and check Chrome’s current Help page if the wording has changed.
If none of these lead to a Save as PDF choice, the limitation is likely specific to your device or Chrome build, and the device manufacturer’s support channel is the next place to check.
