To print from a Samsung Galaxy S20, enable a print service, open content in an app that supports printing, choose Print, select a printer, and tap the print icon. In Settings, search for Printing to turn on Default Print Service or install a printer-maker plug-in. If you need a digital copy instead, select Save as PDF.
1. Enable a print service on your Galaxy S20
- Open Settings and search for Printing.
- Open the printing settings and turn on Default Print Service.
- If your printer is not found or needs its own service, tap Download plugin, choose the plug-in for your printer, and install it. If you are unsure which plug-in to use, check with the printer maker. Samsung notes that many printers may work without a plug-in. Samsung Support: Print from your Galaxy phone or tablet.

2. Connect the phone and printer
For ordinary wireless printing, connect the phone and a compatible printer to the same local Wi-Fi network. With Mopria Print Service, the printer must be Mopria-certified. If both devices support Wi-Fi Direct, they can connect directly without using a router network. Mopria says its service does not support printing through public Wi-Fi hotspots, Bluetooth, or cellular data. Mopria: Print from Android.

When the printer is not discovered
Check that the printer is on and connected to the expected network, and confirm the print service is enabled. If automatic discovery still fails, Samsung documents adding a printer by IP address: open the printing menu, tap More options > Add printer, and enter the printer’s IP address. The printer maker can help with network setup and locating that address. Samsung Support.

Using Wi-Fi Direct
Wi-Fi Direct is an alternative when both the phone and printer support it. Follow the printer maker’s instructions to enable the feature and connect the devices; the exact setup varies by printer. Mopria’s Android printing guidance.
Using a USB printer
Samsung documents connecting a USB printer with an OTG adapter and an appropriate USB cable. Check that the adapter, cable, phone connector, and printer are compatible before connecting. 3. Print a document, email, photo, or web page
- Open the item in an app that supports printing.
- Choose Print. Depending on the app, the command may be under Share or the app’s overflow or More menu. Not every app offers printing.
- Select a printer. If it is not shown, open All printers and allow time for discovery.
- Set the available options, such as paper size, color, or orientation.
- Tap the print icon to send the job.
The settings available depend on the printer and its capabilities; the controls shown on the phone may therefore differ from one printer to another. Samsung Support; Mopria.

4. Save the job as a PDF instead
On the printer-selection screen, choose Save as PDF, then select a location and save the file. This creates a digital copy rather than sending the job to a physical printer. Samsung Support.

Fix common printing problems
- Printer not listed: Check that it is powered on and connected to the expected network, verify Default Print Service is enabled, and install the correct maker plug-in if needed. Samsung Support.
- Compatible printer is not discovered: Try the printing menu’s More options > Add printer flow and enter the IP address, if supported. Ask the printer maker for network setup instructions. Samsung Support.
- No Print command in the app: Look under Share or the app’s More menu. If it is absent, the app may not support printing; open the content in an app that does. Samsung Support.
- The printer appears twice: Mopria says duplicate entries can occur when multiple print services are enabled or a printer is available both through Wi-Fi Direct and the same network. Mopria.
- USB printing does not work: Check adapter, cable, connector, printer, and print-service compatibility. Mopria Print Service does not directly support USB/OTG. Samsung Support; Mopria.
