Open the PDF in Chrome, tap More > Share > Print, select your printer at the top of the print screen, adjust any available settings, and tap Print. The printer must be able to receive print data over Wi-Fi or a mobile network.
Choose where to open the PDF

| Another app | You have the PDF saved and your current app does not offer a Print command. | The app supports printing and can show the printer. |
Android printing is available only in apps that support it; not every app has a print command. Google’s Android printing help describes the general requirement, while Chrome’s instructions cover printing a page, image, or file.

Print the PDF from Chrome
- Make sure the printer is available to the phone and can receive data over Wi-Fi or a mobile network.
- Open Chrome and open the PDF.
- Tap More in the upper-right corner, then tap Share.
- Select Print.
- At the top of the print screen, select the printer. Tap the down arrow to view or change the settings available for that printer and document.
- Tap Print.
To create another PDF rather than print on paper, choose Save as PDF in the print preview and select a save location.

If Print or your printer is missing
The app has no Print command
Try opening the saved PDF in an app that offers printing. Google notes that only some apps support printing. A screenshot is another option for printing app content, but it may not preserve the PDF’s selectable text or full-page layout, so using a print-enabled PDF app is usually more direct.

Check Android’s print-service controls
Look under Settings > Connected devices > Connection preferences > Printing for print-service controls. Google notes that some steps in its device instructions apply only to Android 14 and later; menu names and availability can differ on older Android versions and on other manufacturers’ devices.

The printer does not appear
- Confirm that the printer can receive print data over Wi-Fi or a mobile network and is available to the phone.
- Check the print-service list in Android’s settings.
- If the printer is still missing, follow the manufacturer’s setup instructions for that specific model. Google’s Chrome instructions explain how to add a network-capable printer, but do not provide model-specific network troubleshooting.
