Then rescan with All printers. If it still does not appear, check printer readiness and service compatibility before trying manual IP setup or another supported connection.
Start by opening the PDF’s print controls
- Open the PDF in an app that offers Android printing.
- Open the app’s menu or Share menu and choose Print. The label and location vary by app.
- In the print window, choose Select printer. If your printer is not listed, tap All printers to scan again.
Samsung cautions that not every app supports printing. If there is no Print option, try a different PDF viewer that offers Android printing; switching apps may help, but it is not guaranteed to solve printer discovery. Samsung’s Galaxy printing guide describes the PDF workflow and notes that app support varies.

Check that a compatible print service is enabled
- Open Settings and search for Printing.
- Open the printing settings and switch on the service you intend to use.
- If needed, tap Download plugin and install the printer maker’s service when your printer requires it.
Galaxy menu labels can differ by model and software version, so Settings search is often the quickest route. The printer must work with the service you enable. For the Samsung Print Service Plugin, Samsung’s FAQ says the printer must be Mopria-certified. Samsung Print Service Plugin FAQ

- Confirm the printer is powered on, ready, and configured for wireless printing.
- Connect the Galaxy phone and printer to the same Wi-Fi network. A phone on a guest network or a different router band/network may not be able to discover the printer.
- Check the printer display for errors, and verify paper and ink or toner are available.
- Restart the printer and router, then try scanning again.
- Check whether printer firmware is current and whether the printer is configured for the active print service.
Mopria’s Android printing troubleshooting guidance includes printer configuration, network, restart, supply, error-display, and firmware checks. When both phone and printer support Wi-Fi Direct, it can provide a connection without the shared Wi-Fi network; Mopria also identifies Wi-Fi Direct as an option in its Android printing overview.

If the printer is still missing, try the documented fallbacks
Confirm service compatibility
Check the printer’s documentation or manufacturer support page to establish which Android print service it supports. A printer that is not compatible with the currently enabled service may remain absent even when both devices are online.
Clear Print Spooler data
Search Settings for Print Spooler, open its app information, and clear its data. The exact route varies by Android version. This resets queued print-job information; retry discovery after clearing it. Samsung’s plugin FAQ lists clearing Print Spooler data as a troubleshooting step.

Add the printer by IP address
If the printer has a network address and the active service offers manual setup, use that service’s add-printer flow and enter the printer’s IP address. Samsung documents manual IP entry in its plugin FAQ. This bypasses automatic discovery, but requires the correct address and service support.

Samsung’s general Galaxy printing guide describes connecting a USB printer through an OTG adapter and suitable USB cable. That does not mean USB works through every Android print service: the Samsung Print Service Plugin FAQ specifically excludes USB printers for that plugin. Confirm compatibility before relying on a wired connection.
