Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →To reduce the risk of copyright strikes or a live interruption, loop only music you created yourself, a composition and recording you have verified as public domain, or music whose relevant rights holders have given you written permission for the specific livestream and any replay. If a third party’s music may be matched by Content ID, ask the rights owner to add your exact YouTube channel to its allowlist before going live. No checklist can guarantee that YouTube will never flag a stream, but clearing the rights and preparing for a match can help you avoid preventable problems.
What you need before looping devotional music
A devotional purpose does not itself grant permission to use a song. YouTube says streamers are responsible for having the necessary rights for live and archived content, including relevant music rights. A live stream may be interrupted while it is underway; a Content ID claim on an archived stream may appear after the stream ends. See YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions and guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

There are two separate checks: whether you have permission for the planned use, and whether the rights owner has authorized your channel through Content ID allowlisting when needed. A license does not necessarily prevent a live interruption if the channel has not been allowlisted.
- Music you created: Check whether anyone else has rights in the recording, composition, lyrics, arrangement, or performance.
- Public-domain music: Verify the composition and the specific recording separately. A traditional or old composition can have a newer protected arrangement, translation, or recording.
- Third-party music: Obtain permission or a license that covers your actual stream and replay, and ask the relevant rights owner about allowlisting.
There is no song-specific public-domain determination here: the status of a particular devotional work or recording must be checked with reliable rights information or the relevant owner.

How to clear a playlist before going live
- List each exact track and version. Record the song title, composer or lyricist if known, performer, and recording. Note whether you will use a commercial recording, your own performance, or an arrangement or cover. The song title alone does not establish the rights in a particular recording.
- Confirm the permitted uses. Ask whether the grant covers YouTube livestreaming, repeated playback or looping, the territories in which viewers may watch, and an archived stream or replay if you plan to keep one. Confirm any term, attribution, or monetization conditions that apply. Rights needed can depend on the particular work and the rights granted; do not assume that permission for one layer covers all others.
- Keep written evidence. Save the license, permission, public-domain documentation, and correspondence. Make sure the records identify the track or version and the permitted uses. A purchase receipt or a download labeled “free” does not by itself establish livestream rights.
- Request allowlisting where relevant. If a third party owns or administers the music, contact that rights owner before the event. Ask them to add your exact YouTube channel to their Content ID allowlist and keep their confirmation. YouTube warns that a licensed live stream can still be interrupted when a channel is not allowlisted.
- Prepare a cleared backup playlist. Keep original or verified public-domain tracks ready in case a planned track is flagged. Check the backup tracks too; changing songs does not remove the need for rights clearance.
- Decide how you will handle the replay. If your permission does not cover an archive or replay, do not assume that the live-use grant covers it. Confirm the scope before the stream and set your archive approach accordingly.
Claims that do not make a song safe to stream
- “It is religious music.” Religious or devotional purpose is not, by itself, a copyright license.
- “It was free to download.” A “free” label or description does not stop Content ID from matching music. YouTube identifies public-domain music and music used with the copyright owner’s permission as safe categories; see YouTube’s tips to find safe music.
- “I bought the recording.” Buying a copy does not show that you have permission for livestreaming, looping, or archiving it.
- “I will credit the artist” or “use only a few seconds.” Credit is not a substitute for permission, and YouTube says even short uses can raise copyright issues. A cover or translation of someone else’s work usually still requires permission. See YouTube’s common copyright myths.
- “Creator Music licensed it.” YouTube’s Creator Music FAQ says Creator Music does not support licensing for live content.
- “I restricted where viewers can watch.” Geographic restrictions do not replace the rights owner’s allowlisting step if YouTube requires it for the music.
What to do if YouTube warns or interrupts the stream
- Stop the identified third-party music. Follow the warning’s instructions rather than continuing to play the flagged material. YouTube may replace the stream with a placeholder, temporarily interrupt it, or terminate it if the content remains.
- Check YouTube Studio. After the event, look for a strike, claim, or other restriction. An archived stream can receive a Content ID claim after the broadcast has ended.
- Recheck the permission and version. Confirm that your documentation covers the exact recording or arrangement, live use, replay, and applicable territories. If appropriate, ask the rights owner to clarify the grant or confirm allowlisting.
- Use YouTube’s resolution process only with a sound basis. If you dispute a claim or respond to a strike, rely on rights evidence that supports your position. Do not assume religious purpose, a short excerpt, or a cover automatically creates an exception; YouTube notes that only a court can determine whether a copyright exception applies.
Keep the stream running without leaving a computer on
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live 24/7 from uploaded videos. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live; the cloud loops the uploaded video, so your computer and home internet connection do not have to stay on. It does not clear music rights or prevent a Content ID match, so use it only after clearing the tracks and arranging any needed allowlisting.
Or let it run in the cloud
- Upload your cleared recording or build a playlist.
- Add your YouTube stream key once.
- Go live; StreamNeo loops the video from the cloud.
Nothing has to stay on at home. Every quality up to 4K 60fps is streamed as uploaded at one flat price per slot, with no re-encode or quality tiers. StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card; the monthly option is $9.99 per month. Learn more at StreamNeo, or start your free day.
