Before a long trip in Dragon’s Dogma 2, plan around where you can rest, how you will save, and whether a Ferrystone can actually be used when you need it. Keep the Explorer’s Camping Kit in mind if your route may call for a campsite, but do not treat either camping or fast travel as a guaranteed way to recover or escape trouble.
Choose between traveling on foot and using a Ferrystone
Walking gives you the flexibility to explore along the route. A Ferrystone can shorten travel, but it is conditional: Capcom says it cannot be used during enemy combat and may fail to activate in certain places, such as under a roof. If location restrictions prevent activation, the Ferrystone is not consumed. See Capcom’s official FAQ, updated July 20, 2026.

Keep a Ferrystone as an option, not an emergency escape plan: combat can prevent its use, and the location you are in matters.
Plan for campsites before setting out
The Explorer’s Camping Kit is an in-game item, not real-world camping equipment. Capcom says it is added to in-game storage and is also available for purchase at in-game shops. If your route may call for a campsite, account for a kit in your plan before leaving. Capcom’s FAQ does not establish here how often campsites are attacked or all effects of resting, so do not assume a campsite guarantees safety or a specific recovery outcome.

Know what resting means for your save and reload options
Camping does not change the “Last Inn Rest” load option. Capcom defines that option as the last time the Arisen rested at an inn or dwelling, not the last time they camped. If you are choosing whether to continue a risky journey or return to an inn or dwelling, do not assume that a campsite updates that reload point.
The game supports manual saves and autosaves. Capcom’s PlayStation 5 FAQ says the manual and autosaved data share one save slot, and saving is unavailable during enemy combat. These details are specific to the PS5 FAQ; check the game’s behavior on your platform rather than assuming every platform handles saves identically. Capcom support FAQ.

Make a practical pre-departure plan
- Review your equipment and party. Decide whether they are ready for the route you intend to take.
- Consider whether you may need a campsite. If so, include a camping kit in your in-game plan; the Explorer’s Camping Kit can be obtained from storage or purchased at an in-game shop, according to Capcom.
- Decide how you will travel. Walk if you want to explore the route. Use a Ferrystone only when its combat and location restrictions allow it.
- Understand your save and reload position. Manual saves and autosaves are available, but the PS5 FAQ says they share a slot and saving is unavailable during enemy combat. A campsite does not replace the last inn-or-dwelling rest point.
Capcom’s official online manual is linked from its support page, but detailed claims about particular curatives, ingredient recipes, food bonuses, carry-weight thresholds, or campsite encounters should be checked against an accessible in-game reference rather than assumed.
