What happens to your quests when you depart?
For future Expeditions, Embark announced an option to keep quest progress rather than reset it. That changes older advice that treated a reset as automatic. The fifth Expedition announcement did not specify the setting’s exact in-game flow, and the rules for a returning cycle may change. Before signing up, look for the current quest-reset choice in the live game and confirm the latest rules in Embark’s fifth Expedition announcement.

Do not assume that completing a Caravan commits you to a reset or departure. Caravan contribution and Expedition sign-up are separate actions.
How do Caravan completion and Expedition sign-up differ?
- Build the Caravan. Complete its contribution requirements when available. The fifth-cycle announcement said this could be done between departure windows.
- Wait for the window. A completed Caravan does not enroll you automatically.
- Sign up while enrollment is open. The fifth Expedition had no Last Call feature, so do not count on a late-departure option.
- Complete the active cycle’s challenge and check any catch-up eligibility. Requirements and rewards can change between cycles.
- Depart only after reviewing the live reset choice and what you will give up or retain.
The fifth Expedition window ran from September 8, 2026 at 11:00 UTC through September 29, 2026 at 08:00 UTC. It has passed. Embark said that Expedition would be the last until early 2027, when Expeditions were expected to return with major improvements. That was a target announced in 2026, not a confirmed current schedule; check the official announcement for newer information.

How to complete quests more cautiously before departure
There is no verified quest-by-quest route, tested loadout, or guaranteed safe extraction strategy in the official Expedition announcements. Use the active objective and current match conditions to make decisions rather than relying on a generic route or equipment recommendation.
- Read the active quest objective and check the map conditions before entering a run.
- Once the objective is complete, reassess whether continuing to loot is worth the added risk. Extraction depends on the situation and the rules in the current build.
- Before departure, check the live game for the current quest-reset choice and challenge requirements.
- Do not risk valuable items based on an old challenge threshold; Expedition challenges have changed between cycles.
What rewards and progress are at stake?
Embark’s fifth-cycle announcement listed a complete Zenith Outfit, mystery rewards, 12 stash spaces per Expedition up to 60, and a maximum of 15 bonus Expedition skill points. Catch-up for missed skill points remained tied to stash value and was available from a player’s second Expedition until the cap was reached. These are fifth-cycle details, not a promise that the next cycle will use the same system.
During the pause announced after the fifth Expedition, earned consecutive buffs were to persist. Partially completed Caravans were to be reset and replaced with Ermal Vouchers of equal value. Those vouchers could be used for Ermal offers, alongside ARC Parts and firearms that could be traded or sold for Coin. Confirm current treatment in the live game before making decisions about stored progress.

Past challenge rules are not a forecast
The fourth Expedition’s reward challenge used total-damage thresholds of 5,000, 10,000, 30,000, 50,000, and 100,000. Its challenge rewards included Blueprints and Raider Tokens, not skill points; Blueprints were temporary and reset on the next departure, while Raider Tokens were permanent. The second Expedition used a catch-up example of 300,000 stash value per missed skill point. These figures describe earlier cycles only and should not guide preparation for a future one.

Should you sign up when the next window opens?
Decide based on what the current Expedition actually offers and what you are prepared to reset or rebuild. Before opting in, check:
- Whether the current cycle offers the rewards you want.
- Whether you can keep quest progress or must reset it under the live rules.
- Whether you can complete the active challenge before its window closes.
- What happens to temporary progression, Caravan contributions, and other cycle-specific contents.
- Whether you are willing to rebuild after departure.
The answers can change between cycles, so use the current in-game details and latest Embark announcement rather than carrying over an old Expedition’s rules.
