To sign up for an unreleased game, use Pre-register on an eligible Google Play listing or Pre-order in Apple’s App Store. Google says pre-registration is free and may lead to an automatic install on eligible Android devices. Apple says a pre-ordered app downloads at release, and paid app pre-orders are charged then. The stores document ways to manage or cancel a registration, but the sources do not establish a dependable setting to silence only one game’s launch notification.

Google’s general guidance is on its Google Play Help page. Its developer guidance describes the feature and eligible-device installs in more detail in the pre-registration overview. Apple’s support instructions cover account controls; its App Store Connect pre-order guidance notes territory availability and regional variation in release times.

Google Play: check the listing and your current account controls
Google’s current general help page says a pre-registration cannot be canceled. An older localized Google help page describes tapping Pre-registered and then Cancel on Android, or choosing Unregister on the web. Because the instructions conflict, do not assume either control will be available: open the game’s live listing and check the controls shown for your account.
Apple: use Pre-Orders in your account
On iPhone or iPad, open the App Store, tap your account photo or initials, tap your Apple Account name, and select Pre-Orders. Choose the game and follow the cancellation prompts. For an Apple Arcade game, use Arcade Pre-Orders. Apple also provides routes on Mac through the App Store account name and Pre-Orders, and on Windows through Apple Music or Apple TV account details and Manage Pre-Orders. See Apple’s device-specific instructions.

Manage launch notifications without canceling by mistake
A launch notification is not the same thing as the game’s registration or download. The official store instructions describe release notifications and registration controls, but do not establish a current, reliable switch that turns off only one game’s launch alert while preserving other store notifications.
-
If you want to stop the game from being registered or downloaded, use the store’s cancellation controls where available. On Google Play, first check what the live listing and account UI allow.

If you only want fewer app-store notifications, device-level or store-level notification permissions may affect notifications more broadly. The cited store instructions do not confirm that changing those permissions will silence only this game’s scheduled launch alert.

Do not treat turning off notifications as cancellation, or cancellation as a guaranteed way to change notification settings. Check the relevant store’s current controls for the outcome you want.
On release day
Google says pre-registered users receive a notice when a game becomes available, and eligible Android devices may auto-install it. Apple says pre-order customers receive a release notification and the app automatically downloads to the ordering device; automatic downloads can extend downloads to eligible devices. Apple release timing can vary by region, so a game may not appear at the same time everywhere.
