You can play Scopa online with friends through a browser-based service or a mobile app. First choose a platform everyone can access, then connect through its friend or multiplayer option, agree on the rules, and start a match. The exact invitation steps and available modes vary by service, device, and region.

These options describe different ways to connect; they are not guaranteed to work across every device or country. Check the current service or app-store listing before you settle on one.

- Choose a service everyone can access. Decide whether the group wants browser play or an installed app, and confirm that each player can open the service in their country and on their device.
- Find one another using that service’s multiplayer feature. Depending on the platform, this may mean adding a friend, issuing a challenge, using Game Center, or connecting over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. The available sources do not establish one universal invitation flow, so follow the current in-app instructions rather than relying on guessed button names.
- Agree on the player count and Scopa variant. Check that the chosen mode fits your group. Listings describe different options, including two- and four-player matches, Scopa, and Scopone; names and rules are not interchangeable.
- Check scoring and social settings before you begin. If your service offers choices for rules, visibility, or chat, settle them with the group. Then start the match using the service’s current on-screen prompts.
Scopa rules to know before the first deal
In a common two-player setup, the dealer gives each player three cards and places four cards face up on the table. Players take turns playing one card. The card can capture a single table card of the same value; if no single card matches, it can capture a group of table cards whose values add up to the played card. If neither kind of capture is possible, the played card stays on the table.

Clearing every card from the table in one capture is called a scopa, or sweep. After both players use their three-card hands, the dealer deals another three cards to each player. This continues until the deck is exhausted. At the end, any cards left on the table go to the player or team that made the last capture. Capturing those remaining cards with the final play does not count as a scopa.
How scoring works in the cited rules
Pagat’s Scopa rules award one point in each of these categories:
Rank #2
- GAME CONTENTS: Complete set includes 2 full decks (40 Cards each) of traditional Italian Napolitane playing cards and 100 double-sided score sheets for extended gameplay.
- PLAYER COUNT: Perfect for gatherings, this classic card game accommodates 2 to 6 players for flexible group sizes
- GAMEPLAY STYLE: Strategic Italian card game that combines skill, memory, and tactical thinking for engaging family entertainment
- CLASSIC DESIGN: Traditional size playing cards (51x83.5mm, 2" x 3.29" ) featuring authentic Italian card artwork and patterns, 40 Cards Deck in Neapolitan Style
- SCORING SYSTEM: Includes 100 Double-sided scoring sheets to track points and matches, with clear marking areas for multiple rounds
- Each scopa made during the deal.
- Most cards captured.
- Most coins (also called diamonds in some descriptions).
- The seven of coins or diamonds.
- Best primiera, a card-combination category.
If players tie for most cards or most coins, neither side scores that category. The cited rules set the target at 11 cumulative points, earned over as many deals as needed. Regional and house rules can differ, so use the selected service’s rules and agree on the variant before the match rather than assuming every app follows the same scoring.
