When does Aniimo co-op unlock?
A current guide from Daily Aniimo reports that Friends and Party features unlock at Student I, after catching Alpha Turbo during “Chasing the Clouds,” at roughly character level 14. How to join a friend’s game
- Choose the same server. Aniimo’s official FAQ says progress is shared across platforms within a server, while data on different servers is independent. If you have not started yet, agree on a server before creating characters or making meaningful progress. Official launch announcement and FAQ
- Add each other by UID. Open Friends and use the friend’s UID to add them, according to Daily Aniimo’s current multiplayer guide.
- Invite them to an activity. Invite your friend to Companion Mode for exploration or to a Party for a challenge. Read the activity’s lobby before launching: player limits and rules can vary between activities.
- Decide who should host. The host’s world is the shared setting, and some story steps and world changes may belong only to that host. If one player is less far along, having that player host can make the shared session more useful for them.
What can you do together?
Secondary multiplayer guides describe co-op as shared exploration and combat in the host’s world. Players can travel together, fight enemies, use Twining, catch wild Aniimo for their own rosters, take on Alpha or shared-boss fights, and collect eligible chest or gathering loot. Some interactions may require guests to stay near the host; the guides do not establish a fixed distance.
How many players can play together?
Daily Aniimo reports a maximum of four players in Companion Mode and in most Party challenges. Treat that as a guide-reported limit, not a universal cap: check the player slots and rules shown in the lobby for the specific activity you are starting. Does co-op progress count for every player?
Do not assume a guest’s story or world progress will carry back to their own save. AniimoVerse reports that story steps, NPC interactions, waypoint activation, and some world-state rewards can be host-owned. Daily Aniimo characterizes main-story quests as solo-only. These are secondary guide reports, so check each player’s quest and world state after a session rather than assuming every activity follows the same rule.
For a group trying to advance the story, choose a host whose world is appropriate for the session, and expect guests to repeat any objectives that did not persist when they return to their own worlds.

Is Aniimo cross-play?
The official FAQ confirms that progress is shared across platforms when players use the same server, and that data on different servers is independent. Daily Aniimo reports cross-play among PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and mobile on a shared server; the official launch information cited here confirms cross-platform progress sharing but does not itself spell out matchmaking cross-play. If you cannot join a friend, first confirm the server and then check the current platform and lobby options in-game.

- Account linking: The official FAQ explains linking a PlayStation Network or Microsoft account to an Aniimo Pass email account. Read the prompts carefully when linking for the first time.
- Controllers: PlayStation 5 and Xbox controller support is confirmed in the official FAQ, but a gamepad is optional—not a condition for co-op.
- Launch-era storage information: The September 14, 2026 announcement listed at least 40 GB free and an SSD recommendation for the Windows PC install; it listed 30–35 GB for console pre-downloads and said the PS5 client installs to the internal SSD. These are dated installation details, not multiplayer requirements.
- Cloud gaming: The same announcement listed Xbox Cloud Gaming and said streaming requires a fast, stable internet connection.
