To play Android games on a Windows PC, use Google Play Games on PC for titles in its supported catalog. On a Mac, BlueStacks Air is the free option described here, but it is built for Apple Silicon Macs—not Intel Macs. Both apps are free to use; individual games and in-game purchases may still cost money.

These are separate routes rather than one app that works across Windows and Mac. Neither provider promises that every Android game will run on a computer. Play Android games on a Windows PC with Google Play Games
Check the PC requirements
Google lists these minimums for Google Play Games on PC: Windows 10 version 2004, an SSD with at least 10 GB available, 8 GB of RAM, Intel UHD Graphics 630 or comparable graphics, four physical CPU cores, a Windows administrator account, and hardware virtualization. Google recommends eight logical CPU cores and a gaming-class GPU such as Nvidia GeForce MX450 for better performance. Meeting minimums is not a guarantee that every game will run well.
Use Google’s catalog filters to look for games that may not run well, and review a game’s detail page for performance warnings. Compatibility is specific to the PC version of each title; do not assume that a mobile game is automatically available on PC.

Install and configure it
- Download the Windows installer from Google Play Games and follow the on-screen prompts.
- If setup asks, turn on Windows Hypervisor Platform and restart the computer.
- If a game still requires it, enable CPU virtualization in the PC’s BIOS/UEFI settings. The setting name and location vary by computer.
- Open the catalog, choose a supported game, and follow its install prompts.
Google warns that other emulators might not work while Windows Hypervisor Platform is enabled. If another emulator stops working after enabling it, that setting may be the reason.
Play Android games on a Mac with BlueStacks Air
Confirm the Mac is supported
BlueStacks describes Air as software for Apple Silicon Macs. Its support page lists M1–M4 chips and 8 GB RAM as minimum requirements, with 16 GB RAM recommended. The cited requirements do not establish support for Intel Macs, so check BlueStacks’ current compatibility information before installing on an Intel model.

Install and choose a game
- Download BlueStacks Air from the official BlueStacks Mac page.
- Open the downloaded package and follow the installer’s instructions.
- Browse the BlueStacks store, select a game, and install it.
BlueStacks advertises preconfigured controls for some games using a Mac’s trackpad and keyboard. A separate gaming mouse is optional; it is not a stated requirement.

Google says users do not have to pay to use Google Play Games on mobile or PC, while noting that a game or in-game items may cost money. BlueStacks describes Air as free. That does not make every game free: check the game’s listing for an upfront price, in-app purchases, or other costs before installing.

Choose based on your computer and game
- Windows PC: Start with Google Play Games if your computer meets its requirements and the title appears in its PC catalog.
