To add Teams, search for it in Windows 11, right-click the app result, and choose Pin to taskbar. If Teams is already open, right-click its taskbar icon and choose the same option. To remove the shortcut, right-click its pinned taskbar icon and select Unpin from taskbar. This removes the shortcut; it does not uninstall Teams.
Pin Teams from Windows Search
- Open taskbar Search and type Teams.
- Right-click the Teams app in the results.
- Select Pin to taskbar.

Pin Teams while it is open
- Open Teams.
- Right-click its icon in the taskbar app area.
- Select Pin to taskbar.

Remove the Teams taskbar shortcut
- Right-click the pinned Teams icon in the taskbar app area.
- Select Unpin from taskbar.

Taskbar icon or system-tray icon?
The taskbar app area, where you pin Teams, is separate from the system tray. Microsoft describes Teams taskbar quick actions for items such as status and meeting or chat functions. The system-tray menu has a separate Quit Teams action: choosing it quits the app, while unpinning only removes the taskbar shortcut. Microsoft Support: Take quick actions in Microsoft Teams
