To connect Sennheiser Bluetooth headphones to a laptop, first put the headphones into their model-specific Bluetooth pairing mode, then add them from Windows Bluetooth settings or connect them in macOS Bluetooth settings. If they connect but you hear nothing, select them separately as the laptop’s audio output.
Before you pair
- Charge the headphones or confirm that they are powered on.
- Find the exact model name and follow its manual to enter Bluetooth pairing mode. Button holds and indicator lights vary by model; Sennheiser’s computer connection guidance directs users to their product manual for this step.
- Keep the headphones close to the laptop while it searches.
Connect the headphones in Windows
- Put the headphones into pairing mode using the instructions for your model.
- Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Add device > Bluetooth.
- Choose the Sennheiser headphones when they appear in the device list.
If Windows does not find them
If the laptop has paired with the headphones before, remove the saved entry: open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices, select the old device, choose Remove device, and try pairing again. If you are using Windows 11 and the headphones still do not appear, open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Bluetooth Devices Discovery and change discovery from Basic to Advanced.

Choose the Windows audio devices
A Bluetooth connection does not always make the headphones the active playback device. Open Sound settings and select the Sennheiser headphones for playback. If Windows presents separate Headphones and Headset choices, Sennheiser recommends Headphones for default playback. For calls that need the headphone microphone, set Headset as the default communications recording device.
Connect the headphones on a Mac
- Put the headphones into pairing mode according to their model’s manual.
- Open Apple menu > System Settings > Bluetooth and make sure Bluetooth is on.
- Select the discoverable headphones and click Connect.
Set the Mac’s sound input and output
Open System Settings > Sound. Choose the headphones under Output to listen through them. To use their microphone for calls, select them under Input. Apple’s Bluetooth connection guide is general guidance; use the headphone manual for the Sennheiser-specific pairing control.
#1 Best Overall
- Audiophile tuning: Sennheiser’s in-house 42 mm transducer and refined acoustic design deliver a neutral audiophile sound with lifelike mids, stunning detail, and a wide, natural soundstage. With minimal digital processing ensuring pure fidelity true to the original recording.
- Wireless or wired: Enjoy high-resolution wireless sound with support for aptX HD and aptX Adaptive, especially when paired with the included BTD 700 Bluetooth adapter. For maximum purity, connect via USB-C for lossless listening up to 24-bit/96 kHz.
- Parametric EQ: Expert-level equalization lets you define frequency bands, widths, and filters to precisely shape your sound. Tailor bass, enhance vocals, or fine-tune for any genre, just like a mastering engineer.
- Adaptive ANC & Transparency Mode: Powerful noise cancellation blocks distractions without degrading clarity, dynamics, or balance. Transparency Mode instantly lets in surrounding sounds when you need to stay aware.
- Listen for days, not hours: A class-leading 60-hour battery keeps you going through long trips or work weeks. Just 10 minutes of fast charging adds up to 7 hours of playtime, ideal for when you’re on the move.
Forget an old Mac pairing
In Bluetooth settings, choose Forget for the saved headphones, then put them back into pairing mode and connect again from the device list.
Fix common connection and audio problems
The headphones do not appear
- Confirm they are charged and actively in their model’s pairing mode, not merely powered on.
- Remove an old saved pairing from the laptop and try discovery again.
- Toggle the laptop’s Bluetooth off and on, or restart the laptop, then retry.
- On Windows 11, change Bluetooth device discovery from Basic to Advanced.
Pairing was cleared but will not reconnect
Remove old entries from the laptop, including duplicates such as separate Headphones and Headset entries or LE and Classic entries if they are present. Re-enter pairing mode and select the headphones again. If needed, power-cycle both the laptop and headphones before retrying.

The headphones show as connected but are silent
- Check that the laptop shows the headphones as connected and explicitly select them as the sound output.
- Check both the laptop’s source volume and the headphone volume.
- Test the headphones with another device. If they work there, the issue is more likely to be with the laptop’s connection or sound routing.
Sennheiser’s audio troubleshooting guidance also recommends checking the connection and output selection.

The connection drops intermittently
Move away from other Bluetooth devices, Wi-Fi routers, and metal objects. A phone in a pocket or your body blocking the signal can also contribute to dropouts. Compare the headphones’ behavior with a phone or tablet to help narrow down whether the laptop is involved.
A device ending in “-LE” appears
On some systems, an LE entry is a separate Bluetooth Low Energy connection for Sennheiser’s Smart Control app settings, not the audio stream. For listening, connect the regular headphones audio entry and choose it as the laptop’s output. See Sennheiser’s explanation of the LE connection.

When built-in Bluetooth is unavailable
If the laptop lacks usable built-in Bluetooth, the optional Sennheiser BTD 600 adapter is designed to connect to a PC or Mac, seek Bluetooth headphones when placed in pairing mode, and save the headphone pairing profile for reconnection. Its instruction manual describes the setup. You do not need an adapter when the laptop’s built-in Bluetooth works.
