For the simplest first-time setup, open Samsung’s Galaxy Wearable app on your Android phone, tap Start, then place both earbuds in their case, close the lid for 5–6 seconds, and open it. Select the detected Galaxy Buds and follow the prompts. If the app flow is unavailable, you can pair them through Android’s Bluetooth settings instead.

Charge the earbuds and make sure Bluetooth is available on your phone. Open the Galaxy Wearable app and tap Start.

When the app detects the earbuds, select them and follow the on-screen prompts. Tap OK if a pairing confirmation appears.

Samsung says earbuds already paired with the phone can reconnect when you open the case. If the Buds were paired with another device, or they do not appear, put them into pairing mode using the instructions below.
Pair through Android Bluetooth settings
Galaxy Wearable is Samsung’s recommended setup route for Android, but it is not required for basic Bluetooth audio pairing. Samsung says its earbuds can be used as ordinary Bluetooth headphones with devices that do not support the app. App features and compatibility vary by Buds model and phone.

On a Samsung Galaxy phone, open Settings > Connections > Bluetooth. On other Android phones, open Bluetooth settings; labels and menu paths vary.

Select your Galaxy Buds from the available devices and confirm Pair if prompted.
Put your Galaxy Buds into pairing mode
The pairing action depends on the generation. Follow the method for your model, then select the earbuds in Bluetooth settings.

Galaxy Buds, Buds+, Buds Live, and Buds Pro
Wear both earbuds and press and hold both touchpads at the same time for more than three seconds. Release them when you hear the pairing sound.

Place both earbuds in the open case, then press and hold both earbuds simultaneously for more than three seconds. The case indicator flashes when pairing mode is active.
Galaxy Buds3 and Buds3 Pro
Place the earbuds in the case and open it. Press and hold the pairing/Connect button on the bottom of the case for more than three seconds. The indicator flashes blue, red, and green in pairing mode.

Fix Galaxy Buds that will not connect
Work through these checks in order, starting with the earbuds and their pairing state before changing phone settings.

Check charge and contacts. Charge the earbuds and check that the charging contacts are clean. Low charge can disrupt connection steps.

Reduce nearby interference. Move the phone and earbuds away from Wi-Fi routers and running microwaves, and keep a clear path between them.

Close the case and resync. Put the earbuds in the case and close it until the indicator light goes out. Samsung also describes holding both touchpads for seven seconds or more while the earbuds are in the case as a sync troubleshooting step. This is not the general Bluetooth-pairing method for every model.

Unpair, then connect again. On a Galaxy phone, go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth, tap the settings or gear control beside the earbuds, and choose Unpair. Put the Buds into pairing mode again and pair them.

Restart the phone and check for updates. Samsung recommends restarting the connected device and checking for software updates.

Consider resetting network connections only if needed. Samsung documents resetting Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings on Galaxy devices. This removes saved Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and other connection information, so you may need to reconnect devices and networks.

Contact Samsung service if one or both earbuds still cannot connect after these steps.
Compatibility note
Samsung cautions that some devices, especially those not tested or approved by the Bluetooth SIG, may be incompatible with the earbuds. The Galaxy Wearable app and available controls also depend on the phone and Buds model.
