To pair Pixel Buds Pro 2, leave both earbuds in their open charging case, hold the button on the back until the status light pulses, then choose the buds from your device’s Bluetooth options. Android may show a Fast Pair notification; iPhone and computers use their Bluetooth device lists.
Before you start
Put both earbuds in the charging case and open the lid. Turn on Bluetooth on the device you want to pair. The case button puts the earbuds into pairing mode; keep them seated in the case while you press it. Google lists Bluetooth 4.0 or newer devices—including Android and iOS phones, tablets, and laptops—as compatible for Bluetooth pairing (Google Pixel Buds compatibility requirements).

Pair with an Android phone or tablet
- Unlock the Android device and make sure Bluetooth is on.
- With both earbuds in the open case, press and hold the pairing button on the back until the status light pulses.
- When the Pixel Buds Fast Pair notification appears, tap it and follow the on-screen instructions. Google’s quick-start guide supports Fast Pair on Android 6 and later (Pixel Buds Quick Start Guide).
- If no notification appears, open the device’s Bluetooth settings, choose the option to pair or add a device, and select Pixel Buds from the list.
Pair with an iPhone or iPad
- Open Settings and turn on Bluetooth.
- Place both earbuds in the open case. Hold the button on the back until the status light pulses white.
- When Pixel Buds appear in the Bluetooth device list, tap them to connect.
This is standard Bluetooth pairing. Google lists iOS devices as compatible, but that does not mean Android’s setup app or every Android-only feature is available on iPhone or iPad. See Google’s compatibility information for the distinction between basic Bluetooth use and full feature requirements.

- Leave both earbuds in the open charging case and hold the button on the back until the light pulses.
- Select Google Pixel Buds from the computer’s available-device list and complete any confirmation prompt.
Bluetooth menu names vary by operating-system version, so look for the available-device or add-device list rather than a particular label. Google also identifies ChromeOS, macOS, and Windows as platforms for setup through mypixelbuds.google.com in its quick-start guide.

Pairing on multiple devices: what to expect
Pairing saves the earbuds on a device; it does not mean they are actively connected to every saved device. Pixel Buds Pro 2 support Multipoint, which allows two Bluetooth devices to be connected concurrently, and it is off by default. If you want to use a phone and PC together, pair with both, then enable Multipoint in the supported Pixel Buds controls. A third device can remain paired, but only two can be connected at once through Multipoint. Which source plays can depend on calls and other activity. Google explains the behavior in its guide to Multipoint and audio switching.
If Pixel Buds Pro 2 do not appear
- In the phone or computer’s Bluetooth settings, forget or remove any saved Pixel Buds entry.
- Check that both earbuds are correctly seated in the open case and that the case has power.
- Hold the case pairing button for three seconds. A bouncing white status light indicates the buds are ready to pair.
- Search for Pixel Buds again in the device’s Bluetooth list and select them.
Google recommends trying this re-pairing sequence before resetting the earbuds. A reset clears settings; on Pixel Buds Pro 2 it also resets Find Hub locating ability. For previously owned or refurbished buds, Google says a reset is required to transfer ownership and enable Find Hub tracking. Follow Google’s pairing troubleshooting instructions if the case or earbuds do not respond as expected.

Bluetooth pairing does not guarantee every feature
Basic audio pairing works across supported Bluetooth devices, but Google’s full-feature requirements include a Google Account, a companion phone running Android 6.0 or newer, the Pixel Buds web companion app, and an internet connection. Feature availability and management can therefore differ on iOS and desktop systems; do not assume every setting, assistant feature, or firmware-management option is available on every platform. See Google’s requirements and specifications.
