For many TCL soundbar systems, the included wireless subwoofer pairs automatically: plug in both units, turn on the soundbar, and give them time to connect. If that does not work, check the instructions for your exact soundbar model before trying a button sequence. TCL uses different manual-pairing controls and indicator signals across models.
Start with automatic pairing

Connect the soundbar and its included subwoofer to working power outlets. Check that any subwoofer power switch is on.

Check the subwoofer’s indicator against the manual for your model. A solid indicator commonly signals a successful connection, but its color and exact meaning vary. TCL’s Q Series guidance, for example, says its amber LED remains solid when pairing succeeds; do not assume amber is the signal on every model.

Use the pairing procedure for your exact model
If automatic pairing fails, find the soundbar’s model number and consult its manual before pressing PAIR or other controls. The procedures differ: TCL’s S Series support page describes holding the subwoofer’s PAIR button until its indicator flashes, then using the soundbar’s Right Arrow control. The Q Series page instead describes holding the subwoofer’s ON/OFF control until it flashes, then turning on the bar. The S55H quick-start guide specifies a three-second hold on the subwoofer PAIR control and a ten-second hold on the soundbar pair/connect control. During manual pairing, follow the manual’s timing and confirmation signal exactly. Do not substitute a sequence from a different TCL model just because its subwoofer has a similar-looking button.

If the subwoofer will not pair
Restart both units

Turn off the soundbar.

Unplug both the soundbar and subwoofer from power and wait at least 60 seconds.

Reconnect both units, turn on the soundbar, and allow automatic pairing to try again.

Bring the subwoofer closer and check for obstructions
For setup, temporarily place the subwoofer near the soundbar, with a clear path between them. TCL’s S Series guidance suggests approximately 10 feet; TCL UK advises no more than 3 meters (9.8 feet) in its troubleshooting context and notes that different rooms or physical obstructions can contribute to connection problems. Check power and the indicator
Confirm the subwoofer is plugged in, its outlet works, and any power switch is on. Note whether its indicator is off, blinking, or solid, then compare that behavior with the model manual. No light on a known working outlet points to a power or hardware issue; continued blinking without pairing suggests the wireless connection has not completed.
Confirm the subwoofer is compatible
Use the subwoofer supplied with the soundbar unless TCL specifically lists another one as compatible with that exact model. A subwoofer from a different TCL system is not necessarily interchangeable. Before buying a replacement, verify the exact soundbar model and compatibility rather than relying on a listing that says only “TCL subwoofer.” TCL Support: subwoofer compatibility and TCL Support: soundbar troubleshooting.

It is paired, but there is no bass
If the indicator shows a successful connection, pairing may not be the problem. Try audio that has clear low-frequency content and check the soundbar’s bass or subwoofer level. TCL notes that some audio content may not contain much low-frequency information, so a quiet subwoofer does not by itself prove that the wireless link has failed. When to contact TCL Support
Contact TCL if the indicator stays off despite a known working outlet, keeps blinking after the model-specific pairing steps, shows a connection but produces no sound after checking content and levels, or the subwoofer repeatedly disconnects. Have the soundbar’s model and serial number ready, along with a description of the indicator behavior. TCL lists these symptoms among reasons to seek support.
