To pair OnePlus Nord Buds 3r, put both earbuds in the case, open its lid to enter pairing mode for a first pairing, then select OnePlus Nord Buds 3r in your phone or computer’s Bluetooth settings. On Android, Google Fast Pair may show a setup pop-up; on an iPhone or laptop, use the Bluetooth device list.
Put the earbuds into pairing mode
First-time pairing
- Place both earbuds in the charging case.
- Open the lid. The device-specific manual copy says this starts pairing mode when the earbuds have no existing pairing records; the case’s white light flashes in pairing mode.
- Keep the case open while you search for the earbuds on your phone or computer.
If the earbuds have paired before
The device-specific manual copy, hosted by a regional retailer rather than OnePlus, describes two ways to make previously paired earbuds discoverable:

- Wear the earbuds or take them out of the case, then touch and hold both earbud touch areas for four seconds.
- If the earbuds are disconnected from another device, open the case and wait about 15 seconds for the white light to flash.
The charging case has no Bluetooth pairing button; use the earbud touch areas or the case-lid method instead.
Pair with an Android phone
- With the earbuds in pairing mode, bring them close to your Android phone. OnePlus advertises Google Fast Pair, which may display a pairing pop-up.
- Follow the pop-up instructions if it appears.
- If it does not appear, open the phone’s Bluetooth settings, find OnePlus Nord Buds 3r in the available-device list, and tap it.
Bluetooth menu labels can vary by Android version and phone maker. The standard Bluetooth device list is the fallback when Fast Pair is unavailable or does not appear.

Pair with an iPhone
- Put the earbuds into pairing mode using the steps above.
- Open the iPhone’s Bluetooth settings and look under available devices.
- Tap OnePlus Nord Buds 3r to connect.
OnePlus describes the earbuds as Bluetooth-compatible, while the device-specific manual directs users to their phone’s Bluetooth settings. The precise screen labels can vary with iOS versions.
Pair with a Windows laptop
Make the earbuds discoverable before starting the Windows device-add flow. The laptop needs Bluetooth support; Microsoft says a USB Bluetooth adapter can add it if the laptop does not have built-in Bluetooth.

Windows 11
- Open the taskbar’s Quick Settings and select the Bluetooth control’s device-management option.
- Choose the option to add a Bluetooth device, then select OnePlus Nord Buds 3r under new devices.
Windows 10
- Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
- Select Add Bluetooth or other device > Bluetooth.
- Choose OnePlus Nord Buds 3r from the list.
Use the earbuds with more than one device
OnePlus advertises dual-device connection, allowing users to switch between a phone, laptop, or tablet without reconnecting. That describes switching between devices; it does not establish that audio plays from both at the same time.

Pairing and feature controls are separate
Basic Bluetooth audio pairing does not require the HeyMelody app. OnePlus says some features must be enabled manually in phone settings on OnePlus phones or through the HeyMelody app on other Android brands and iOS. Treat that as feature management after pairing, not a prerequisite for connecting the earbuds.

If the earbuds do not appear
- Confirm the earbuds are in pairing mode before refreshing or reopening the device list.
- If they have been paired before, try holding both earbud touch areas for four seconds, or use the open-case method while the earbuds are disconnected.
- Check that Bluetooth is available and enabled on the phone or laptop. On a laptop without Bluetooth support, Microsoft identifies a USB Bluetooth adapter as an option.
- Keep the earbuds near the device while pairing. OnePlus states a maximum Bluetooth transmission distance of 10 m; it is a maximum, not a guaranteed range, and electromagnetic interference can interrupt a connection.
