To order a Printful sample for a store in manual mode, open the Printful account connected to the store, then go to Billing → Discounts → Order a sample now. Choose a product, add your design, select shipping, and pay at Printful checkout. You can then follow production and delivery in the Printful dashboard.
Order a Printful sample from your store

In the store’s print-on-demand screen, click Manage Printful account. Alternatively, sign in directly to the Printful account connected to the store. The setup and sample-order guide documents this route for manual mode.

Printful also documents another dashboard entry point: New order → select store → Test your design. If the menu labels differ, look for that route or check the current sample offer under Billing → Discounts.

Sample access depends on the Printful account. Printful says an ecommerce store must be connected, and that sample ordering becomes available starting the month after connection. Confirm that the store is linked to the account you opened, then check Billing → Discounts to see whether an offer is available. Printful describes the program as a way to try products with your designs at a discount in its sample-order help page.

Printful lists a 20% sample discount and a monthly allowance based on the prior month’s accumulated store sales. The thresholds and order/item limits below are Printful’s stated schedule; the offer shown in your account is the one to rely on.

Printful says the allowance resets on the first day of each calendar month, calculated in UTC; unused orders do not carry forward. Its sample discount cannot be combined with Growth plan discounts, coupon codes, or gift cards. These account-dependent terms can change, so verify the offer and quota in your dashboard before placing an order. The schedule is published on Printful’s sample-order discount policy.

Check Billing → Discounts for the current offer. Sample orders are not available to every account, and Printful says a newly connected store becomes eligible starting the following month.

If you need to place a manual order without the sample offer, Printful documents a standard Basic order from New order. This is an ordinary paid manual order, not a discounted sample or a way to bypass sample limits; see Printful’s Basic order instructions.

What to inspect before listing the product
Samples can help assess product quality, print, fabric, packaging, design appearance, and the ordering experience from checkout through delivery. A physical sample can also provide real product photos for a store or marketing materials. These are reasons providers give for ordering; results depend on the particular product and design.
Ordering a sample is separate from publishing a product. Products created through the Printful integration publish automatically, though syncing may take a few minutes; a manual sync is available if a new item does not appear. Changes made in the store manager generally do not sync back to Printful except for the product name. Changes made in Printful sync to the store except price changes. See the product creation and sync guide before you finalize the listing.
A sample is paid directly in Printful. This differs from a customer sale: the customer pays your store through its configured payment setup, while Printful separately charges you for fulfillment and shipping using your selected Printful billing method.
