To open a Samsung laptop safely, first identify its complete model code and find the repair guide for that exact model. “Samsung laptop” is not specific enough to determine screw locations, cover-release points, or how internal components are connected. Do not apply instructions from a different Samsung model.
Identify your exact Samsung laptop model
Look for the full model code on the label on the underside of the laptop. If the label is missing or hard to read, check the device’s system information or the model shown in Samsung support information. Record the complete code, not just the family name, such as “Galaxy Book.” Use it to find the matching product support page.

Model and regional listings matter: a repair guide available for one configuration or country may not appear on another support page. Samsung’s pages for the Galaxy Book4 15.6-inch in Canada and the Galaxy Book6 NP740VJGF in Spain list repair documentation, but that does not establish that every Samsung laptop has a guide.

Find the model’s repair guide before opening it
- Open the official Samsung support page for your full model code and country or region.
- Look for a repair guide or service documentation. Check that the guide names your model and covers the task you intend to do; a guide for another Galaxy Book is not a substitute.
- Confirm the component is accessible and the guide includes the needed procedure. If it does not explain the work, do not infer screw counts, pry locations, or connector steps from another laptop.
- Choose another route if the instructions are unavailable or the work is delicate. Contact Samsung support or a qualified repair professional, and confirm service options for your model and country.
Repair-guide listings can include version and date details. For example, Samsung Canada lists the Galaxy Book4 15.6-inch English repair guide as revision 1.1; its filename indicates July 22, 2025, and the support listing gives an October 10, 2025 file modification date. Samsung Spain lists the Galaxy Book6 NP740VJGF English guide as revision 1.0 with an April 3, 2026 filename date. Those details identify particular listings, not a universal guide version.

Check whether the job requires opening the bottom cover
Some upgrades require access through the laptop’s underside, but access varies by model and component. Samsung Semiconductor’s SSD-upgrade guide demonstrates disassembling a laptop bottom, locating the SSD slot, removing its screw, and installing a drive, using Samsung’s 990 PRO NVMe SSD as its example. It does not show that every Samsung laptop has an accessible or upgradeable SSD. Verify the exact model’s documentation before buying a component or removing the cover.
Prepare tools that match the model
A laptop opening tool kit with plastic pry tools and precision screwdrivers may be useful, but no single kit is guaranteed to fit every Samsung laptop. Check the model-specific instructions for fastener types and opening method before choosing tools. Avoid substituting a metal blade or forcing a tool into a seam when the guide does not identify that point as a release location.

Keep model-specific instructions model-specific
The iFixit guide for the Samsung NP530U3B is an example for that exact older model. It describes removing the hard disk and carefully detaching the bottom cover; later steps show four battery screws and careful disconnection of a small power connector. Those details are not general directions for Galaxy Books or other Samsung laptops. Follow them only if you are working on the NP530U3B and the guide matches your device.
Stop if the cover resists, and reassemble by the guide
Follow the opening sequence and reassembly directions in the same guide for your exact model. If the cover resists, stop rather than increasing force: the release points or fasteners may differ from what you expect. Do not continue to internal battery or connector work based on a procedure for another model. If the correct instructions are unclear or do not cover the task, use Samsung support or a repair professional instead.
