To move cryptocurrency from Bitcoin.de, first create a withdrawal address for the asset, choose the correct destination type, and complete any address verification Bitcoin.de requires. Then enter the address and amount on the Disbursements page and authorize the withdrawal with your account password and either an SMS-mTAN or one-time password. Before you confirm, verify the asset, network, address, and live fee: Bitcoin.de warns that crypto transfers cannot be reversed.
Before you start: check the destination
Open the receiving exchange’s deposit page or your wallet’s receive screen. Confirm the exact asset and the network the destination accepts. A matching ticker alone does not prove that both services support the same network. Check for any destination-specific details, such as a required memo or tag, minimum deposit, or confirmation rules. Bitcoin.de’s general instructions do not establish these requirements for a particular exchange, so use that provider’s current deposit instructions.

Choose the right destination type
When you create a withdrawal address, Bitcoin.de asks who receives or controls the funds. Choose based on the destination’s actual owner, not simply where you copied the address from.

How to withdraw from Bitcoin.de
- Get the receiving details. At the destination, select the same cryptocurrency you intend to withdraw and copy its deposit or receive address. Confirm the supported network and any required memo or tag before proceeding.
- Create a withdrawal address. In Bitcoin.de, open the Withdrawal area, select the cryptocurrency, use the control to create a destination address, and add the address. Classify another exchange as a VASP, or choose self-hosted for a wallet you control. Bitcoin.de describes these address-creation steps in its withdrawal-address instructions.
- Verify a self-hosted address if required. Bitcoin.de instructs users to verify self-hosted wallet addresses using its Satoshi test or signature procedure. Follow the current on-screen instructions. A wallet that generates a fresh address may require coin control to select an address for the Satoshi test. If your wallet software does not fit the available procedures, Bitcoin.de directs users to contact support.
- Open Disbursements and enter the withdrawal. Enter the receiving address and the amount. Bitcoin.de’s transfer instructions say a comment is optional.
- Review the details and authorize. Carefully recheck the asset, address, destination network, amount, and any destination-specific information. Confirm with your account password and either an SMS-mTAN or one-time password, as requested in the account flow. Bitcoin.de’s transfer FAQ warns: “Transfers of cryptocurrencies can not be reversed!”
- Check for receipt at the destination. Use the receiving provider’s instructions to determine how it reports deposits and what confirmations or other conditions it requires. There is no universal arrival-time promise established by Bitcoin.de’s general instructions.
Address verification: exchange versus self-hosted wallet
Sending to another exchange
Select the VASP category when the destination is another exchange or crypto service. Use the deposit details currently shown by that service, including its network and any required memo or tag. Bitcoin.de’s address guidance distinguishes VASPs from self-hosted wallets; it does not verify the requirements of any specific receiving exchange.
Sending to a wallet you control
Select the self-hosted-wallet category and complete the Satoshi test or signature procedure Bitcoin.de presents. The appropriate route can depend on how your wallet handles addresses. Bitcoin.de lists Ledger, Exodus, BitBox, Trezor, and Phantom as examples of self-hosted wallets, but that list is illustrative, not a product comparison or a claim that a particular device is necessary.

Withdrawal fees and timing
Bitcoin.de says its BTC withdrawal fee is based on current Bitcoin network fees and is adjusted regularly. Its fee guidance also describes an optional fee increase intended to improve the chance of faster inclusion in an upcoming block. Check the fee displayed in your live withdrawal flow before authorizing the transfer.
Bitcoin.de’s published BTC fee pages have shown different values and update dates, so a figure seen on a page or in a search result should not be treated as a fixed charge for every withdrawal. The live quote in your account is the relevant amount for the transaction. Bitcoin.de says network fees are forwarded rather than kept by the bank.

No stable processing-time guarantee is established in the available general instructions. Network fee selection can affect the likelihood of inclusion, and the receiving service controls its own crediting requirements.

If something does not match
- The receiving network or asset is unclear: stop and confirm the deposit instructions with the destination service. Do not infer network compatibility from the ticker alone.
- The wallet cannot complete verification: check whether its address behavior supports the Satoshi test or signature procedure Bitcoin.de offers. Bitcoin.de advises contacting support if the wallet software does not fit those procedures.
- The fee or available withdrawal differs from what you expected: rely on the current logged-in withdrawal flow, since fees can change and account-specific availability or limits may apply.
- You are unsure about any detail: do not confirm until the receiving address, asset, network, and destination requirements are clear. A cryptocurrency transfer cannot be reversed.
