How to Move a YouTube Loop from OneStream Live to Restream

There is no documented one-click OneStream-to-Restream loop import. Keep the video and event details, rebuild playback in Restream, and verify repeat behavior before switching.

You can move the broadcast workflow, but the reviewed instructions do not document a one-click import of a OneStream Live loop into Restream. Keep the original video and YouTube event details, then rebuild the stream in Restream and connect it to a new or existing YouTube event. Before switching, confirm that Restream supports the repeat count and run time you need; its event-creation guide does not establish that it can reproduce OneStream’s continuous or 24/7 loop modes.

What moves—and what you must rebuild

Treat the video file, the YouTube event, and the streaming-service setup as separate pieces. Keep a copy of the source video and note the event’s title, description, visibility, scheduled time, and intended loop duration. Then configure the replacement stream in Restream. The reviewed guides explain how to create a Restream YouTube event and connect an existing one, but do not describe transferring OneStream’s loop configuration or service credentials.

OneStream Live’s Help Center says a pre-recorded video can be looped up to 60 times in its standard loop workflow; the article was last updated September 21, 2026. Its separate 24/7 mode is described as YouTube-only. Confirm availability and duration in your OneStream account before changing a scheduled or ongoing broadcast. Before you switch

  • Keep the source recording accessible locally or in the storage you plan to use with Restream.
  • Write down the YouTube event URL or other identifying details, title, description, privacy setting, schedule, and whether auto-start and auto-stop are enabled.
  • Record the desired loop behavior: number of repeats or continuous duration. Do not assume a Restream video or playlist will repeat indefinitely.
  • Plan a test before the audience’s expected start time, especially if the event is scheduled or already has viewers waiting.

Rebuild the stream in Restream

  1. Choose the YouTube event. In Restream, connect the YouTube channel and select the existing event if it is available and you want to retain that event. Restream also documents connecting to an existing YouTube event through its YouTube integration or as a custom RTMP channel. If you are starting fresh, create a new event instead. See Restream’s instructions for streaming to an existing YouTube event.
  2. Start a new Restream stream. The documented event flow begins at New Stream. Choose the appropriate mode—Studio, RTMP, Video File, or Playlist—and add the YouTube destination. For a prerecorded loop, choose the file or playlist workflow that fits your content.
  3. Enter or check event details. Set the title, description, privacy, and scheduled start time to match your intended broadcast. Confirm that the selected YouTube destination is the right channel and event before you proceed.
  4. Verify repeat behavior and duration. Restream’s event-creation guide documents Video File and Playlist options, but the reviewed instructions do not establish an equivalent to OneStream’s 60-repeat loop or its YouTube-only 24/7 mode. Check the controls and limits shown in your current Restream account, and do not schedule the cutover until the intended end or repeat behavior is clear. See Restream: Create a YouTube Live Event.
  5. Schedule and test. Review the content, playback order, audio and video, event visibility, and start time. If practical, test the setup before the planned broadcast rather than discovering a mismatch at the scheduled start.

Check YouTube’s start and stop controls

Starting the stream from Restream does not necessarily start the YouTube event automatically. Restream notes that when YouTube auto-start is disabled, you must click Go Live in YouTube after starting the stream from Restream. Likewise, if auto-stop is disabled, you must click End Live after stopping the stream in Restream. Check these settings for the event you selected; YouTube manages live-stream settings in Live Control Room. Restream: Stream to an existing YouTube Event YouTube Help: Manage live stream settings

Existing event or new event?

Choice What to check
Use the existing YouTube event Restream must let you select the event. Confirm the event URL, title, description, visibility, schedule, and auto-start/stop behavior. This is the option to consider when preserving the existing event matters.
Create a new YouTube event Set up the event details again and share the new event URL with viewers who need it. Verify the scheduled time, privacy, stream destination, and repeat or end behavior.

Connecting to an existing event is not the same as transferring the OneStream loop. The choice preserves or replaces the YouTube event arrangement; the video playback and repeat behavior still need to be configured in Restream.

Common problems and fixes

  • The old loop settings are missing. They are not documented as importable. Recreate the playback setup in Restream and verify its repeat and duration controls.
  • The stream starts in Restream but YouTube is not live. Check that the correct channel and event are selected. If YouTube auto-start is off, open the event in YouTube and click Go Live.
  • The stream stops but the YouTube event remains live. If auto-stop is disabled, end the event manually in YouTube after stopping the Restream broadcast.
  • The wrong event or channel is selected. Pause the cutover and recheck the connected YouTube channel and event details before sending the stream.
  • The broadcast ends sooner than intended. Recheck the selected file or playlist and the repeat or duration controls in your Restream account. The reviewed Restream event instructions do not establish unlimited looping.
  • Viewers cannot find the event. Check whether you retained the original event or created a new one, then share the correct event URL and confirm its visibility setting.

Or let it run in the cloud

If your goal is to keep prerecorded video live on YouTube without leaving a computer running, StreamNeo is a cloud alternative: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; uploaded video streams at its original quality up to 4K 60fps for one price per slot, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo streams to YouTube only and plays uploaded videos rather than going live from a camera.
