To move a Gyre 24/7 stream to a different YouTube channel, authorize the destination channel in Gyre, select it when configuring the replacement broadcast, and confirm the new stream appears in the correct channel’s YouTube Studio. Check the destination channel’s live-stream eligibility and access permissions first. Keep the existing stream running until you have verified the replacement; Gyre’s reviewed documentation does not establish whether changing destinations preserves the original event URL, chat, or archive.
Change the destination for a Gyre stream
Gyre associates a broadcast with an authorized YouTube channel. Its documentation says channels are authorized separately, and its API authorization flow can create a broadcast and bind a stream key for the selected channel. The exact labels or layout in Gyre’s current interface may vary.

- Sign in to Gyre and begin configuring the replacement YouTube stream.
- Choose YouTube authorization and sign in with the Google account that owns or manages the intended destination channel.
- Select the destination channel. If that Google account manages multiple channels, check the displayed channel identity before proceeding.
- Configure the broadcast for the selected channel: set its title, description, tags, thumbnail, privacy, video files or playlist, and stream key as applicable in the current Gyre interface.
- Check YouTube eligibility and capacity for the destination channel before starting or scheduling the broadcast.
- Start or schedule the new broadcast, then open YouTube Studio for the destination channel and verify that the stream is listed and going to the intended channel.
- Stop the old stream only after verification and once you have decided the timing of the handoff. This is a precaution; the documented workflow does not guarantee a seamless transfer between broadcasts.
Check channel access and live-stream eligibility
Confirm the account can manage live streams
The Google account used for authorization needs the necessary access to the destination channel. YouTube channel permissions let a channel owner grant access without sharing Google Account sign-in details. YouTube says the Manager and Editor roles can manage live streams, though Editor has restrictions, including not managing permissions or deleting scheduled, live, or completed streams. YouTube also says the Owner role under channel permissions cannot transfer ownership to another user. Review the role’s current capabilities before relying on it: YouTube channel permissions.
Confirm the channel can go live
YouTube’s live-stream requirements say the channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. YouTube also limits a channel to 10 active streams and each stream key to three active streams at a time. Check both limits when configuring the replacement, especially if other broadcasts are running: YouTube live-streaming eligibility and limits.

Do not switch channels to get around an active live-stream restriction. YouTube prohibits using another channel while a restriction remains active.
Changing Gyre’s destination is not transferring a YouTube channel
If you only want Gyre to send a broadcast to a different channel, authorize and select that destination in Gyre. Do not use YouTube’s Brand Account channel-transfer flow for this purpose. A channel transfer moves the channel identity between accounts or Brand Accounts; YouTube’s instructions include prerequisites and warn that an existing destination channel can be replaced. If you truly intend to move the channel identity and its content, follow YouTube’s current official process and verify both channel identities before confirming any replacement step: Move your YouTube channel to another account.

What happens to the existing live URL, chat, and archive?
The reviewed Gyre documentation does not establish whether retargeting an already-running broadcast preserves its YouTube live-event URL, chat, or archive. Plan on configuring a new broadcast rather than assuming those elements carry over. If continuity of the event identity is essential, ask Gyre support before changing anything, and keep the old stream active until the replacement is verified.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If copyrighted material remains after a warning, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. Even when you have a licence, the rights holder may need to add the channel to an allowlist for the material to work in a live stream. Troubleshooting a channel move
- The destination channel is missing in Gyre: Confirm you authorized the Google account that owns or manages it. Recheck channel selection carefully if the account manages several channels.
- You can select the channel but cannot manage its broadcast: Ask the channel owner to confirm your YouTube permissions include live-stream management. Do not share the account password as a workaround.
- YouTube will not let the destination channel go live: Check verification, restrictions from the preceding 90 days, the channel’s 10-active-stream limit, and the stream key’s three-active-stream limit.
- The new stream appears on the wrong channel: Stop before retiring the old broadcast. Recheck the selected channel identity in Gyre and the destination shown in YouTube Studio.
- The old event URL, chat, or archive did not carry over: Continuity is not confirmed by the reviewed Gyre material. Treat the replacement as a new broadcast and contact Gyre support if preserving event identity is a requirement.
- YouTube interrupts the new stream: Review any copyright alert in YouTube Studio. A licence alone may not prevent interruption if the rights holder has not allowlisted the channel.
