The same guide gives a 103050 cell at about 1600 mAh as an example that can fit after moderate cutting of the battery compartment. It is not a universal battery specification or a guarantee of fit: check the cell’s actual dimensions against the shell and the charging-board instructions before purchase or installation. Understand the play-and-charge limitation
Game Boy Resource warns that the TP4056-based rechargeable approaches it documents do not support play-and-charge and cautions users about lithium batteries. Check these details before you assemble a combined build
