Check those details before choosing a fixed, tilting, or full-motion design; screen size alone cannot confirm compatibility.
What TV wall mount do you need?
Start with your TV’s exact mounting and weight requirements, then consider how you watch and where the screen will sit. A fixed mount keeps the TV stationary and close to the wall. A tilting mount adds vertical angle adjustment. A full-motion mount can tilt, swivel, and extend, depending on the model.

| Mount type | Movement | Best suited to | Tradeoff |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fixed | None; holds the TV close to the wall | A settled screen position and straight-on seating | Limited access behind the screen; no angle adjustment |
| Tilting | Vertical angle adjustment | A TV mounted high or a position where glare or viewing angle needs correction | Does not provide the broad side-to-side adjustment of full-motion |
| Full-motion | Tilt, swivel, and extension; features vary by model | Off-axis seating, corner layouts, or more frequent access to ports | Projects farther from the wall when extended; confirm the model’s exact specifications and installation requirements |
No mount style is automatically safer than another. Correct compatibility and installation matter for every type.

How do you know whether a mount fits your TV?
Check the exact TV model’s instructions or manufacturer product page for its mounting-hole pattern, weight, and screw requirements. The VESA pattern is the horizontal and vertical spacing between the mounting holes, measured in millimeters. The mount must support that pattern, and its rated capacity must accommodate the TV’s weight. A screen-size label does not establish either match. TCL’s TV mounting guidance and EE’s UK guide to choosing a TV wall mount describe these compatibility checks.

- Important: Watch the video and learn the”Designed for" details listed below!
- Designed for concrete, brick and wood studs wall (single stud).
- Designed for TVs up to 80 lbs (36.3 KG) and display sized 26" - 55" (66 CM - 140 CM).
- Designed for VESA sized from 3.9'' x 3.9'' through 15.7'' x 15.7''.
- Comfortable View with tilt range from +10° to -5°.
- VESA pattern: Match the TV’s hole spacing to a pattern supported by the mount.
- Weight: Compare the TV’s weight with the mount’s rated capacity.
- Screws: Check the TV manufacturer’s required mounting screw type and size; do not assume the mount’s included hardware is right for every TV.
- Mount instructions: Confirm the selected model supports the combination of pattern, weight, and screen position you need.
These checks establish TV-to-mount compatibility, not whether the wall can hold the installation.
What should you check about the wall?
Identify the wall construction and determine where the mount’s wall plate can be attached before you drill. Suitable fixing methods depend on the actual wall and the specific mount; there is no universal anchor or drilling recipe for every plasterboard or masonry wall. EE distinguishes solid walls from plasterboard, while LG notes that wall type and installation environment affect mounting suitability.

Plan the screen position and installation
Choose the mount movement only after thinking through the room: consider the main seated viewing position, screen height, glare, any angled or corner seating, and how often you will need to reach the ports or cables. A tilt or full-motion design may make access behind the TV easier than a fixed bracket, but that convenience matters only if it suits the room.
Check the exact mount’s instructions for tools and included hardware. A level and drill are common installation tools; a screwdriver and measuring tools may also be needed. A stud finder is listed for plasterboard installations. Requirements vary with the wall and bracket, and wall-specific fasteners should not be assumed to come with the mount. Arrange a second person to help lift a larger screen. EE’s guide and TechRadar’s TV wall-mount guide list common installation tools.

How should you handle cables?
Cable concealment is a separate choice from the mount. An on-wall cable channel or raceway can route cables along the surface; an in-wall route requires tools and must comply with applicable electrical and building requirements. The sources cited here do not establish those requirements, so check local rules and use an appropriate professional when needed. SANUS, a mount manufacturer, describes both in-wall and adhesive on-wall cable-management options in its TV mount feature overview.

When are example model specifications useful?
Published specifications can help illustrate what particular designs offer, but they are not a substitute for checking the current manual and your TV’s requirements. TechRadar’s review page, with update history through April 2025, reports the following specifications. They are reported product details, not independent verification here; confirm current specifications and availability with the manufacturer before buying.
