For Grok access included with an X subscription, manage payment details through the platform where you bought the subscription—X’s website, Apple, or Google Play. X’s reviewed help pages do not document a Grok-specific setting for spending limits or transaction permissions. To limit or block charges, use the purchase platform’s account controls or contact your card issuer.
First, identify where you bought the subscription
X says subscription billing and payment information are managed through the platform used to purchase the subscription. The right place to update a payment method or billing details therefore depends on whether checkout took place on X’s website or through an in-app purchase. X does not give one universal menu path for every purchase platform.

To identify the relevant account, check the subscription receipt or purchase history and determine which account holds the subscription. Then open that platform’s subscription or billing settings to manage payment information, renewal, or purchase restrictions. X’s Help Center frames the billing question as: “How do I change the payment method, payment date or billing information for my Subscription?”

X Premium has Basic, Premium, and Premium+ tiers. X lists increased Grok usage limits with Premium, and SuperGrok access and Grok Bot with Premium+. These are subscription access and feature differences—not evidence of a Grok setting that lets you approve transactions or set a spending cap. Availability varies by platform and location, and X says features can change. See X Premium features.

The X subscription help pages reviewed do not document a Grok-specific spending limit or transaction-permission control. If you want to prevent or cap subscription charges, check the purchase platform’s account controls and the controls offered by your card issuer. Do not assume that changing a Grok usage limit changes what you can be charged.
If an X subscription payment is declined
X lists several potential causes. Check the relevant items for the platform and payment method you used:

- To access your card information safely, type the complete website address shown on your Gift Card (MyGift.GiftCardMall.com) directly into your browser's address bar. Don't use search engines or shortened versions of the website address, as these may lead you to fake or fraudulent sites. Do not provide any Gift Card details (example: Card Number) to someone you do not know or trust. If you believe you've reached an illegitimate website, contact cardholder service at 1-888-524-1283. Be cautious of phishing sites, there are a variety of scams in which fraudsters try to trick others into paying with gift cards.
- To report your Lost or Stolen Physical Visa Card, call Customer Service 24/7 at 1 (888) 524-1283 to cancel your Gift Card as soon as you can. You will be asked to provide the Gift Card number and other identifying information.
- Use your Visa Gift Card in the U.S. everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted, including online.
- Confirm the card details and billing address are correct.
- Check whether an X account daily limit has been reached.
- Ask the card issuer whether it blocks internet transactions or flagged the charge. Proxy or VPN use can trigger an issuer check.
- Check whether auto-renew was turned off.
- For an in-app purchase, check whether Apple ID or Google Account purchase restrictions are blocking it.
X says subscription payments are billed monthly through the purchase provider, around the same date each month. If an initial purchase or monthly renewal fails, the provider may retry the transaction up to three times. The retry statement is from the X Help Center; the page reviewed does not state when that retry policy was last updated.

Grok Bot template-rewards payouts are a separate creator-program matter, not a consumer setting for authorizing Grok purchases. X’s help page describes an invite-only pilot with U.S. eligibility conditions and X Money payout onboarding. That does not establish a Grok spending-limit or transaction-permission control.
