If you want to make wired in-ear monitors wireless, the MOONDROP EVO 2 is an ear-hook DAC/amp module that connects to compatible earphones and pairs with a Bluetooth source. It is an adapter, not a complete set of earbuds: you supply the IEMs, and their connector must match the EVO 2’s replaceable FitEar or MMCX connector option.
What the EVO 2 does
MOONDROP describes the EVO 2 as a true-wireless ear-hook module for using existing wired earphones without a cable to the source device. The hooks house the wireless electronics and amplifier; the earphones are sold separately. AV Watch also describes the product as an ear-hook DAC/amp module and reports that the connection section can be changed between FitEar and MMCX connectors (MOONDROP’s announcement; AV Watch).

The main design change from the first-generation EVO is its amplifier approach. MOONDROP says the earlier model paired a Bluetooth system-on-chip with a conventional Hi-Fi DAC/headphone amplifier, while EVO 2 uses a Class-D digital amplifier IC intended for small speakers alongside its custom TWS-01 Bluetooth SoC. The company presents this as a way to deliver high output with lower power consumption; that description is a manufacturer claim, not a result from independent bench testing.

Connector compatibility is the first practical hurdle. Linsoul’s EVO 2 listing identifies replaceable FitEar and MMCX connectors. Check the connector on your particular IEM and confirm which connector version is being sold before ordering; similar-looking IEMs can use different standards.

Do not assume the original MOONDROP EVO uses the same connector. Its official product page specifies a universal 0.78 mm 2-pin port, rather than the FitEar/MMCX options listed for EVO 2. The original EVO page also lists a different codec set, including aptX variants (MOONDROP’s first-generation EVO page).
Match the codecs to your source device
Linsoul lists Bluetooth 6.0 and support for SBC, AAC, LHDC, LDAC, and LC3. A codec on the adapter’s specification list is useful only if the phone, computer, or other Bluetooth source supports it too; otherwise the connection will use a mutually supported option. MOONDROP specifies LHDC-V (LHDC 5.0) up to 24-bit/192 kHz and LDAC up to 24-bit/96 kHz. These are published format capabilities, not a guarantee that every source or listening setup will use them.

LC3 has an additional setup caveat. e-earphone says LC3 requires a compatible LE Audio source, is accessed through a separate device entry marked “LEA,” and is disabled by default. It also reports that the app cannot be used while connected through that LEA entry (e-earphone’s EVO 2 listing). If you rely on app-based settings, that limitation matters when choosing between standard Bluetooth and LE Audio.

What the published performance figures mean
Battery life
MOONDROP claims up to 15 hours of playback from the ear-hooks and about three additional charges, or 45 hours, from the case. The company says its R&D Center measured this with the ear-hooks and case fully charged, AAC selected, volume at 50%, and ordinary music played continuously. Treat those as manufacturer test figures under stated conditions, not a prediction for every codec, volume level, or use pattern.

Game mode latency
MOONDROP lists 60 ms for game mode and says the number is based on the chip specification. It is not an independent end-to-end latency measurement for a particular phone, game, or Bluetooth connection.
DSP and equalization
MOONDROP says EVO 2’s second-generation interactive DSP offers a 10-band parametric EQ, a frequency-response database, one-touch tuning based on cloud targets, and the ability to share or download settings. These are advertised software features; the available product information does not establish how they perform across different IEMs or source devices.

Other retailer-listed details
Linsoul lists USB-C charging, an approximately two-hour charge time, roughly 10 m of range in an open environment, beamforming dual-microphone ENC, and daily-life water resistance for the ear-hooks. It describes the case as crush-proof and water-resistant. These are retailer-displayed specifications, not a basis for treating the hooks as waterproof or the case as suitable for rugged conditions.

Who should consider it
EVO 2 may suit someone who already owns IEMs with a compatible FitEar or MMCX connection and wants to use them wirelessly without replacing the earphones. It is a less straightforward choice if your IEM uses another connector, if you need a codec your source device does not support, or if you depend on the app while connected through the LC3/LE Audio entry.

Before comparing it with another wireless adapter, check the connector and whether it is replaceable, codecs supported by both adapter and source, the conditions behind battery-life figures, app requirements, the basis for latency claims, and the physical fit around your ear. The published specifications alone do not establish that EVO 2 outperforms competing products.
Price and availability depend on the market
MOONDROP’s Japanese announcement says domestic sales began October 5, 2026, at a general retail price of ¥16,650 including tax. AV Watch reported the same date and price. Separately, Linsoul’s US-facing listing showed $99.99 and preorder status, with no estimated arrival time, when observed October 7, 2026. These are market- and retailer-specific snapshots, not a single worldwide price or availability statement.
